Security Officer - Armed Patrol Driver

As a Security Officer - Armed Patrol Driver in Dallas, TX, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer in a retail mall location, you will conduct routine patrols, stay highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents, and provide customer-focused assistance while communicating clearly with store teams and law enforcement when needed. This post requires carrying a firearm and driving between areas as assigned. What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to clients and guests by carrying out security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a retail and grocery environment.
• Conduct armed patrol duties in accordance with licensing requirements, post orders, and Allied Universal guidelines.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the store, entrances and exits, parking areas, loading and receiving areas, and the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity.
• Maintain a visible presence at key locations such as front entrances, high-traffic aisles, and checkout areas to help to deter disruptive behavior and theft-related activity.
• Monitor for suspicious behavior, policy violations, and potential hazards, and communicate observations to store management and/or Allied Universal leadership as required.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including disturbances, trespass issues, medical calls, and fire or alarm activations.
• Provide clear verbal direction and issue lawful commands when needed, and initiate appropriate response steps in line with training and post orders.
• Document incidents, patrol activity, and unusual events using required reports and log entries, including witness statements when applicable.
• Coordinate with local law enforcement and/or emergency services when required and support on-scene response until relieved.
• Control access to restricted or employee-only areas as assigned, assisting with credential checks and visitor or vendor management when applicable.
• Operate and monitor security-related systems as assigned, which may include CCTV, alarms, radio communications, and access control equipment.
• Conduct security-related checks of doors, gates, and emergency egress routes during patrols and report issues for follow-up.
• Maintain professional appearance, clear communication, and de-escalation techniques while interacting with employees, customers, and delivery personnel.
• Participate in shift briefings, follow post instructions, and complete required training updates related to armed post duties.

Minimum Requirements:

• Have a minimum of 2 years of security-related experience.
• Be at least 21 years of age.
• A valid driver's license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• Hold a Level III Armed Certification in Texas only.
• An armed guard card/license is preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
