Job Description




As a Security Officer - Factory Perimeter Patrol in Zeeland, MI, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Manufacturing & Industrial, and more. As an unarmed patrol officer at a busy manufacturing and industrial location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence that helps to deter security-related incidents, and respond to calls for assistance. You will document observations, communicate clearly with site personnel and visitors, and deliver a customer-first experience. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to site personnel and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including reporting concerns to site leadership and/or Allied Universal management.
  • Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of production areas, warehouses, loading docks, parking areas, and the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity.
  • Control access at designated entry points by verifying authorization, directing visitors, and supporting visitor check-in and/or badging processes per site policy.
  • Monitor alarms, gates, and other access control points as assigned, and communicate issues promptly using site-approved radio and/or phone procedures.
  • Observe for and report hazards, maintenance concerns, and abnormal conditions such as unsecured doors, damaged fencing, and/or blocked egress routes, following site reporting procedures.
  • Complete written and/or electronic reports such as daily activity logs, incident reports, and shift handoff notes with clear, factual details.
  • Support site rules related to truck traffic and delivery activity by observing driver check-in areas and notifying appropriate contacts when assistance is needed.
  • Assist with emergency and evacuation procedures as directed, including guiding personnel to assembly areas and coordinating with responding public services when requested.
  • Maintain a professional presence and appearance, using de-escalation techniques and respectful communication when interacting with employees, visitors, and contractors.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Customer Service Experience is preferred.
  • Alarm Panel Experience is preferred.
  • Comfortable Using Computer or Tablet is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
