This Position reports to:

Production Manager

ABB Electrification is seeking a Machine Operator to join our team in Florence, SC. In this role, you will operate equipment in our machine shop, supporting the production of circuit breakers and electromechanical components within the Electrification Division. Your work will be crucial in meeting production targets while adhering to established health and safety policies, as well as approved manufacturing systems, processes, and procedures. You will play an essential role in the order fulfillment cycle.

Your Role:

  • Operates machines in accordance with operating manuals, work schedules, and/or production order instructions to convert raw materials or semi-finished parts into components or finished parts with the required quality and on-time delivery. Understand / Interpret part drawings, dimensions, and part quality characteristics.
  • Perform routine machine set-up, adjustments, repairs, and installation of simple replacement parts. Perform maintenance and preventative maintenance of Fab Shop equipment.
  • Support Engineering and Production Prototype (0 series) builds including part modifications, set-ups and mechanical / electrical functionality where qualified to do so.
  • Troubleshoot machine issues and provide part design change recommendations.
  • Working Product knowledge of Roll-In Replacement, Breaker and Product Support product lines and willingness to work within and learn these product lines.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma plus 2 or more years of related experience in fabrication. Alternatively, a special combination of education and experience and/or demonstrated accomplishments.
  • Ability to read and understand technical drawings and specifications.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Candidates must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
