Description The Children's Home of Poughkeepsie has been caring for children throughout the Hudson Valley for over 175 years! We strive to empower children and families to achieve optimal health and well being. We are currently seeking Bilingual Assistant Teacher for our Unaccompanied Children (UC Shelter) Program. Position Summary: The UC Assistant Teacher is responsible for facilitating the delivery of six hours of culturally diverse structured education, Monday through Friday and aiding UC Teacher in classroom management and instruction. This includes, but is not limited to: administering initial education assessments, developing educational goals in conjunction with the UC Teacher and completing Progress Reports. The Teacher's Assistant is responsible for uploading all required documentation to the UAC Portal and ensuring compliance with ORR policies and procedures. He/She will contribute to the development of the curriculum, classroom coverage as needed, completion of UC Portal documentation, maintenance of UC paper and electronic records.
