uada.edu Summary of Job Duties:The University of Arkansas Division of Agriculture is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Program Associate to work on the "TransformAR: innovative technical assistance & transformative education for farmers and ranchers in Arkansas" program, which involves numerous extension specialists from different departments, has a mobile lab to assist and educate producers, and will deliver a series of outreach activities.

The selected candidate will be responsible for TransformAR program implementation and management under the direction of the program's director, Dr. Dan Quadros. In this role, the hired candidate will conduct a variety of laboratory tests and procedures related to agricultural, food, and environmental sciences, ensuring the accuracy of results, delivering quality care to area specialists, county agents, farmers, and ranchers.

Additionally, it is expected of this program associate to manage the TransformAR program independently and contribute effectively to its design, execution, results dissemination, as well as outreach and/or Division mission activities.

Effective communication skills will be essential, encompassing both personal and mass communication. Program Associates may supervise and train Program Technicians, and/or temporary staff and students.

Responsibilities and Duties:

* Conduct laboratory tests and procedures, adhering to established policies, procedures, and standards of practice.

* Collect and prepare specimens for analysis, ensuring accurate identification of each specimen.

* Document all laboratory results and producer information with precision and clarity.

* Maintain laboratory equipment and supplies, ensuring optimal working conditions.

* Drive a truck pulling a mobile lab (trailer) in a safe manner.

* Schedule outreach activities, organize events, and report the results.

* Assist in the training and orientation of specialists, students, producers and new staff members as required.

* Uphold a clean and safe work environment in compliance with health and safety regulations.

* Ensure adherence to all laboratory policies and procedures, maintaining the highest standards of technical assistance and producers' education.

* Help specialists and county extension agents in conducting farm technical assistance and outreach.

* Help the program's director collect and manage participants' data.

* Communicate effectively with participants and develop a mass communication strategy and content.

* Be able to work sometimes after hours and weekends. Qualifications:

Qualifications

A bachelor's degree in a related area of study plus 3 years of relevant work experience, OR a Master's degree in a related area of study, is required.

Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship now or in the future.
