Position Summary

The Supply Chain Intern will assist with analysis and procurement of common raw material and component requirements for production from engineering and production specifications. This role will ensure accurate item master schedules, material availability, and potential production problems to ensure that personnel, materials, and services are provided as needed and report findings. The Supply Chain Intern may confirm materials supply is available to meet demand and may prepare or purchase requests for the production or purchase of components or parts to support master production schedule, shop load, and inventory requirements.

Responsibilities

Main Project: To support the development and review of work instructions by collaborating with subject matter experts, capturing best practices and ensuring documentation is clear, accurate and aligned with current Parker procedures and standards.

Additional Responsibilities include:

  • Schedules and expedites the movement of materials to meet customer-shipping dates
  • Projects raw material availability to meet production schedule updates and development of monthly production objectives. Assures spikes in material needs are planned and managed
  • Analyzes inventory usage and identifies and quantifies potential problems and causes that may affect the ability to achieve inventory level and shipping objectives
  • Advises and assists management in resolving problems concerning over shipments, shortages, engineering changes, and cancellation of orders
  • Monitors material component shortage status
  • Maintains date management on all open orders and appropriate data files as required by division policies and procedures
  • Recommends changes to improve product or process efficiency and/or reduce cost using continuous improvement principles
  • Complies with federal, state, and industry regulations; ensures adherence to requirements and advises management on needed actions
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
  • Supports inventory management through cycle counting and auditing

Qualifications

  • Major in Business Management, Operations, Engineering, or Supply Chain
  • Completed at least second year, Junior Year status preferred

  • Pay Range: $13.03/hr to $21.71/hr
