Position Highlights The Career Educator (Career Strategies Professional II) is a member of a collaborative, supportive team within the Center for Career Readiness who provide centralized services and resources to help guide students in planning, preparing and implementing strategies throughout the career development life cycle, with a particular focus on job and internship searches. This individual will have a focus on direct student contact (both individual, group, and curricular).

The role will maximize the reach and outcomes of online resources that educate students in career design mindset, proactive networking strategies, successful job applications, and interview strategies. This will include overseeing the maintenance of Career Education content on the Center for Career Readiness website. The role will also be responsible for creating a community of support for students, including developing and maintaining relationships with other campus partners, instructing or co-instructing for-credit courses that support career exploration and development, and partnering to create curricular and co-curricular activities and assignments in support of partners within UA's numerous academic colleges.

Duties & Responsibilities

Duties and Responsibilities

Student Coaching, Instruction, & Support
*Provide career education and coaching in small group, online, and 1:1 settings.
*Maintain an understanding of career coaching and education best practices across the student lifecycle/Career Journey Map.
*Maintain a personal caseload of students and conduct personalized communication and support, as well as assessment and reporting of student outcomes.

Curricular Development & Instruction
*Develop, maintain, and/or deliver for-credit career development courses such as Design Your Life & Design Your Search to a diverse student audience.
*Create and manage specialized curriculum and programming for particular student populations.
*Develop, maintain, and deliver topical career readiness presentations that can be integrated into curriculum or delivered in co-curricular settings.
*Create and implement educational campaigns to enhance awareness and use of career development resources.

Program Management
*Support special projects to advance the long-term vision for Career Readiness, specifically to scale and expand a collaborative campus model for cutting-edge career and professional development; engage the campus career community at the direction of the Executive Director and Associate Director.
*Design and implement assessment strategies for career education programming and resources and adapt as needed based on assessment results.
*Oversee content generation for Career Education resources on CCR's website, ensuring that students have access to content tailored to their professional interests and career journey stage.

Campus Partnerships
*Conduct course/co-curricular consultations and resources overviews with faculty and staff to identify areas of potential partnership or collaboration.
*Partner with faculty and staff in serving as a subject matter expert to create and/or curate curricular and co-curricular course materials.
*Develop and/or curate resources that increase engagement with other CCR resources, programs, and events.

Administration & Reporting
*Maintain accurate records and reporting of personal and team coaching activities, using data to optimize staff coverage and available appointment blocks.
*Represent the Department on university committees and at conferences as needed and assigned.
*Participate in at least 2-3 webinars or other professional development opportunities and share learning with the team, by request or at the direction of the Associate Director.
*Perform related duties as assigned or required to meet Department and University goals and objectives.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through professional level experience required.
  • Minimum of 3 years
    of relevant work experience (e.g.,
    career development, talent acquisition, learning and development, leadership
    education) or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree.
  • Experience with providing programming, self-assessment, career development, and/or academic coaching to students and/or staff.
  • Experience with curricular design, delivery, and/or integration, including online or hybrid course environments.
  • Experience creating and delivering engaging presentations and workshops.
  • Interest and experience in working with various student populations to drive equitable outcomes.
