Position Title: Machine Operator
Wage: $24.83/hour Shift: 2nd Hours: 2:00pm - 10:00pm Feeling underpaid or undervalued? This could be the position that you deserve! QPS Employment Group is seeking a detail-oriented Bender Set-Up Operator with strong experience in precision metal fabrication, machine set-up, and blueprint interpretation. Skilled in producing first-piece quality parts, using calipers and micrometers for accurate inspections, and maintaining strict safety and lockout procedures. Machine Operator Responsibilities: - Set up a variety of metal working machines designed to shape, fabricate, and alter, to customer specifications, fabricated extrusions into a variety of individual parts and/or subassemblies - Verify that each set-up process produces a completed part which meets print specifications - Notify lead person and/or supervisor if any part of set-up performs below standard during the 1st piece run - Records all parts ran (scrap or run quality) - Reads blueprints and job orders so specifications, such as hole locations, dimensioning, and processes are correct - Set up fixturing, jigs and cutting jigs used in each process - Provide quality assurance instruments with each job, such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, to ensure quality production - Set up bender based on traveler and job order/print - Use hand tools to assemble heads, mandrels and forming blocks according to bending instructions on the drawings - Bend parts for the order and inspects according to the frequency specified by the QC department - Operate cutoff saws to cut ends off of pieces to match the print length - Band and tag loads when finished - Finish traveler by making a final piece inspection and count of parts - Ensure proper maintenance of equipment and maintains plant housekeeping standards Requirements for Machine Operator: - High School Diploma or equivalent; minimum of 90 days of on-the-job training - Ability to effectively operate bending and forming equipment, along with basic computer skills and a variety of small hand tools - Ability to use calipers and micrometers - Ability to add, subtract, divide and multiply - Proficient in reading a tape measure and attain a 90% passing rate on a measurement test - Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and short correspondence - Ability to write standard documentation - Ability to interpret blueprints and customer specifications - Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, customers, and other employees of the organization - Ability to frequently lift or carry up to 10 pounds, regularly lift or carry up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift or carry up to 80 pounds; regularly push up to 75 pounds wausau@qpsemployment.com IND050 QPS Employment Group is a full-service staffing firm comprised of dedicated and passionate people with over 50 offices throughout the United States.
