Summary:

The Senior Manager, Product and Portfolio Communications supports the alignment of strategic business priorities with measurable communications outcomes. This role is responsible for the development and execution of integrated communications strategies that elevate the reputation of Lundbeck US. This includes driving initiatives that build brand awareness and thought leadership among key stakeholders while shaping product and portfolio narratives across external channels.

Essential Functions:



  • Develop and execute integrated product communications and disease awareness initiatives, including but not limited to patient influencer activations, social media content, storytelling partnerships, earned and controlled media opportunities.


  • Support and execute strategic communications for products and pipeline assets across key lifecycle milestones (pre-launch, launch, indication expansion, data readouts, label updates, competitive events, etc.).
  • Ensure communication tactics are tightly aligned with brand strategies and enterprise objectives to deliver ROI and impact.
  • Shape differentiated portfolio and product narratives that resonate with priority audiences (patients, HCPs, media, advocacy).
  • Support Lundbeck US and brand reputation efforts across traditional and digital platforms; including media monitoring, drafting leadership updates, and execution of media and issues preparedness strategy.


  • Collaborate cross-functionally to address emerging issues across social or traditional media and are effectively manage with minimal impact on Lundbeck's reputation.


  • Build strong internal relationships and collaborate with US and global cross-functional partners to align strategies and pull-through for key initiatives, announcements, and innovative opportunities.


  • Develop and draft core communication materials, including press releases, messaging, social content, videos, etc. using an accessible and compelling writing style to educate and engage diverse audiences.
  • Manage assigned program budgets and track resource utilization, ensuring proper management and efficient implementation.


  • Influence and support Lundbeck US social channel strategy, developing organic and paid content campaigns, identifying and monitoring against KPIs and best practice benchmarks.
  • Proactively monitor industry trends to inform and guide positioning, provide actionable insights and make recommendations for continuous improvement.


  • Manage PR agency to execute tactical plans across multiple projects.
  • Support robust review and approval processes in partnership with Legal, Regulatory, and Compliance, ensuring adherence to safety, fair balance, and regulatory requirements.



Required Education, Experience, and Skills:



  • Accredited bachelor's degree
  • 6+ years of communications experience
  • Experience within the pharmaceutical, biotech or medical device industry or an agency supporting any of these industries.
  • Strong executive presence and ability to establish strong relationships to collaborate with and influence cross-functional stakeholders
  • Ability to manage multiple workstreams and competing priorities in a changing business environment
  • Strong understanding of and proven ability to guide and create content across media channels (traditional, digital, and influencers) to maximize product awareness
  • Exceptional writing, storytelling, and strategic planning skills across traditional channels and emerging media
  • Ability to independently thrive in a dynamic environment



Preferred Education, Experience, and Skills:



  • Accredited bachelor's degree in Public Relations, communications, English, journalism or related field
  • Demonstrated success navigating complex US product milestones and comms strategies in regulated industries
  • Experience building and applying communications measurement frameworks
  • Content creator and management experience using current tools and AI



Travel:



  • Willingness/Ability to travel up to 10% domestically. International travel may be required.



The range displayed is specifically for those potential hires who will work or reside in the state of Illinois, if selected for this role, and may vary based on various factors such as the candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role. Salary Pay Range: $175,000 - $195,000 and eligibility for a 15% bonus target based on company and individual performance, and eligibility to participate in the company's long-term incentive plan.
