We are seeking a Design Technician 3 to join our Security and Electronic Systems (SES) business Unit. As part of (SES) Strategic Business Unit you will be part of a team that designs, engineers, integrates, operates and maintains electronic security services inclusive of intrusion detection, access control, biometric authentication, video surveillance, audio visual, it systems, perimeter defense and command and control systems for federal, local and commercial customers across high-growth markets.


Responsibilities

The Design Technician 3 is responsible for assisting experienced designers and project teams in preparing and coordinating project deliverables and assisting less experienced designers as required. Needs to take ownership of modifying and annotating detailed drawings based on markups and specifications of existing drawings, creating new AutoCAD/Revit drawings from hand drawings, and publishing professional drawing packages that are top quality for our customers.

  • Update and manage existing drawing packages for use with multiple systems.
  • Create and modify detailed and contract drawings, Process large format print requests, Work with engineers and modelers in order to meet project deadlines.
  • Comply with Company drawing standards and symbols, create small to medium sized drawing packages, Configure large format plotters and batch plotting.
  • Uses AutoCAD/Revit/Navisworks
  • Coordinates with Design Engineering, Project Management, and Client Stakeholder groups.
  • Attends weekly coordination meetings for specfic projects that you will be assisting.
  • Working closely with colleagues in the office to assess where assistance is needed across muliple projects and programs.
  • Willing to utilize Resource Management tools such as Asana to keep project tasks updated for visibility by management.

Qualifications

Education:

  • High School Diploma / GED w/ 6+ years of experience

Experience:

  • Hands-on or classes using design/drafting tools, such as CAD / BIM.
  • Extensive knowledge of CAD / BIM software.
  • Familiar with electrical discipline web site and knows how to find department guides and standards.
  • Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
  • Effectively operates computer software, including MS Office Suite of products (i.e., databases, spreadsheets, project management software, Outlook, etc.) to prepare reports and correspondence.
  • Skilled in, MS SharePoint, AutoCAD, Revit, Adobe Acrobat, AcroPlot Pro and EDMS.

Pay Range

USD $32.69 - USD $40.87 /Hr.
