| Position Purpose |
Reporting to the Director, Corporate and Foundation Relations (
CFR), the assistant director will manage a portfolio of 15-25 corporate and foundation funders and will identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward foundations and corporations for grants in support of the goals and priorities of Dartmouth Health. The assistant director will also provide management of functions essential to the operations of the
CFR office, including managing
CFR databases, conducting prospect research, and writing acknowledgement letters, briefings, and other content as needed for Dartmouth Health priorities. |

Experience
* 2+ years of experience in philanthropy/fundraising, preferably in corporate and foundation relations.
* Experience working in a large and/or complex organization.
* Writing, communications, and/or editing experience, preferably in higher education or a non-profit environment.
Education
* Bachelor's degree. |

Key Accountabilities
| Description |
Identification, Cultivation, Solicitation, and Stewardship
* Manages a portfolio of 15-25 foundation and corporate prospects through the qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship cycles. Meets associated performance metrics.
* Partners with Medical and Healthcare Advancement colleagues to support event sponsorship proposals, as needed.
* Assists in formulating strategies and approaches, including briefings and other working materials, for Dartmouth Health senior officers, faculty, and researchers involved in cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of corporations and foundations.
* Works independently or in close collaboration with Medical and Healthcare Advancement directors to develop and submit proposals for funding.
* In collaboration with the director, organizes and coordinates corporate and foundation meetings and Dartmouth Health site visits. |

| Description |
Program Management and Support
* Coordinates with Dartmouth College
CFR team to generate and distribute weekly list of current funding opportunities.
* Conducts research to identify funding opportunities for individual Dartmouth Health researchers and program leads. Compiles lists of prospects for future cultivation and solicitation.
* Tracks and maintains a database of program-lead/researcher areas of expertise and funding needs.
* Tailors grant acknowledgment letters to reflect the unique value provided by each foundation/corporate grant.
* Builds and maintains relationships across Medical and Healthcare Advancement and Dartmouth Health to ensure smooth coordination of processes and projects.
* Maintains knowledge of initiatives, current programs, and other funding opportunities offered by corporations and foundations.
* Follows institutional protocol for proposal submission via the Sponsored Projects Administration (Dartmouth Health).
* Uses office systems to track all activity with researchers and foundations/corporations. |
