What you will be doing:

Under limited supervision, apply engineering principles to product development and launch (PD&L), ensuring quality standards are implemented and adhered to throughout the entirety of the manufacturing process. Provide support for the execution of product launches and accommodating project teams by leading activities at the manufacturing site while adhering to the project schedule. A PD&L engineer is responsible for providing cost estimates, database support, PPAP submissions, PFMEA creation, standard work documentation and other activities as needed. Partners with operations leaders and other stakeholders at the plant to ensure a successful launch and handoff as the project transitions from concept to production.

Qualifications:


Skills/Abilities

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to communicate clearly and in a compelling manner to an external audience, peers and leaders
  • Ability to collaborate well with others across the organization and thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced, and highly fluid environment.
  • Comfortable working with teammates in a variety of cultures and countries.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team (in-person and virtually across time zones)
  • Organized and detail oriented with ability to develop, manage, and prioritize multiple projects
  • Strong analysis skills: process, capacity, cost/benefit, waste stream, and quality tools.
  • Basic knowledge of lean manufacturing techniques: flow, equipment reliability, and set up reduction.
  • Able to develop technical solutions to a variety of complex problems of strategic scope with minimal support
  • Basic understanding in design, specification, purchase, and installation of new equipment
  • Strong computer skills (excel, word, powerpoint, windchill, SAP)
  • Awareness of material handling solutions available to support efficient flow within production areas
  • Understanding of occupational Biomechanics/Human Factors Engineering

Education

* 4 year degree in an engineering discipline


Experience

  • 3-5 years of experience preferred, with a track record of utilizing lean manufacturing principles to influence cost and quality metrics
  • Windchill and SAP experience preferred
  • Fundamental understanding of relevant automation and technology commonly deployed in manufacturing
