PURPOSE A Vice President or Associate in the Diversified Corporates team, within US Corporate Banking, will assist with client coverage and provide stand-alone execution capability for assigned corporate banking clients in a rapidly expanding investment banking and capital markets platforms. PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Structure and execute acquisition loans, bridge loans, corporate revolvers and bilateral loan transactions.
- Preparation of credit submissions and other documentation related to the transaction approval process (including assistance with loans syndications, pipeline management, single name strategies and exceptions committee papers) through closing and ongoing monitoring.
- Negotiate and review requisite legal documents related to executing transactions.
- Lead or assist in relationship coverage of portfolio clients, including identification of cross sell opportunities in coordination with DCM, Risk Solutions Group, Cash Management, IB, ECM, etc.
- Proactive portfolio management including timely updates on client, industry and market performance, particularly in connection with any signs of potential deterioration or developments requiring amendments/waivers to existing loan documentation.
- Review and comply with Firm Policies applicable to your business activities.
- Proactively identify operational risks / control deficiencies in the business
- Escalate operational risk loss events, control deficiencies and risks that you identify to your line manager and the relevant risk and control functionspromptly.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS AND QUALIFICATIONS Basic Qualifications
- Advanced or Bachelor's Degree with a focus in Business, Economics, Mathematics or other quantitative fields, CFA or other relevant professional designation.
- Minimum 5 years of related work experience in corporate finance and/or corporate banking.
- Strong financial modeling abilities, as well as superior writing and presentation skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to maintain relationships at all levels within and outside of the organization.
- Ability to take initiative and function independently, balanced with strong team skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and simultaneous workflows.
- Maintain high standards of professional and ethical conduct.
- Develop and train junior team members.
- Strong PC and MS Office skills.
Suggested Qualifications:
- Formal Credit training; Master's Degree; CFA or other relevant professional designation preferred.
- Client calling experience preferred.
AUTHORITIES, IMPACT, RISK
- Evaluates new deals within group to determine whether to recommend committing RBC's capital and resources.
- Make recommendations on transaction terms and conditions that are appropriate to the specific deal/client.
- If applicable, duly registered Vice Presidents are empowered to complete and sign commitment and engagement letters along with non-disclosure and confidentiality agreements after obtaining all appropriate business and/or legal approvals.
KEY RELATIONSHIPS
- In support of primary coverage banker, build and maintain client relationships in your coverage universe.
- Corporate Banking staff.
- Develop and expand Capital Market relationships: IB, DCM, Leverage / Syndicated Finance, GLA and other product areas.
- Develop a working relationship and trustful partnership with Group Risk Management and Credit Transaction Management.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Can be a high stress environment that requires quick turnaround and decision making.
- Ability to operate in demanding work environment with tight timelines and to commit to over and above regular work hours as required (including evenings and weekends).
- Travel may be required on relatively short notice for periods up to a week at a time.
- Office environment on site presence 4+ days.

The expected salary range for this particular position is $160,000 - $225,000, depending on your experience, skills, and registration status, market conditions and business needs. You have the potential to earn more through RBC's discretionary variable compensation program which gives you an opportunity to increase your total compensation, provided the business meets its performance targets and you meet your individual goals.
