Position Overview
You will provide CNC programming support for the machine shop using Siemens NX and Model-Based Definition (MBD) to produce accurate and efficient machining programs for aerospace piece-part manufacturing. This role works closely with machinists on the shop floor as well as engineers, manufacturing engineers, and management to support the processing and re-processing of components within an aerospace machining environment. Responsibilities may also include assisting with Model-Based Definition in Siemens NX and creating process drawings from engineering models or engineering drawings to support manufacturing operations.
Key Responsibilities
*Develop multi-axis CNC programs using Siemens NX CAM from 3D models and Model-Based Definition (MBD).
*Support the re-processing and transition of parts from legacy machining equipment to newer technology platforms.
*Create and maintain manufacturing process documentation and process drawings derived from engineering models and drawings.
*Collaborate daily with machinists, engineers, manufacturing engineers, and management to ensure manufacturability and production efficiency.
*Provide shop floor support to troubleshoot machining processes and improve program performance.
*Work primarily onsite (approximately 90-100%) within the manufacturing environment.
Core Qualifications
*Bachelor"s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience. Must have hands-on experience developing CNC programs using Siemens NX CAM.
*Demonstrated experience programming a variety of CNC equipment, such as multi-axis machining centers, grinders, or robotic machining systems.
*Strong understanding of Siemens NX CAM programming, including Model-Based Definition (MBD) and programming directly from 3D models.
*Solid knowledge of machining processes and the operational capabilities of different machine types and technologies.
*Self-motivated individual with a strong desire to learn, improve processes, and expand technical capabilities while working with minimal supervision.
*Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across engineering, production, and leadership teams.
*Ability to work productively with diverse personalities in both office and shop-floor environments.
*Due to the nature of the work, U.S. citizenship is required
Preferred Qualifications & Skills
*Experience with CNC post-processor development or modification.
