AIR is currently seeking a Junior Programmer with experience in Medicaid administrative data. This Junior Medicaid Programmer supports research projects by querying large claims databases, building and documenting analytic datasets, producing clear analytic outputs, applying quantitative methods, assisting with study design and project administration, contributing to technical documentation, and ensuring the quality and consistency of all work products.

This position will report to AIR's Healthcare Innovations Team, which supports high-quality implementation and produces rigorous evidence on the effectiveness of new approachesto care and payment-translating findings into actionable insights for policymakers, payers, providers, and patients.

This position has the flexibility to work remotely within the United States (U.S.) or from one of AIR'sU.S. office locations. This does not include U.S. territories.

Responsibilities:

The responsibilities for the position include:


  • Query large databases including Medicare, Medicaid and commercial payer claims data.
  • Construct and document analytic data files.
  • Create customized and presentation-quality reports from data analysis results.
  • Apply quantitative methods and techniques to manage and analyze research data.
  • Participate in the design of research studies.
  • Manage administrative aspects of projects.
  • Support the preparation of technical procedures and reports.
  • Review work products to ensure quality and consistency of content.


Qualifications:

Education, Knowledge, and Experience:


  • Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Mathematics, or related quantitative analytics field with a minimum of 2 years quantitative research experience in health policy or a related field,ora Masters degree in quantitative analytics field, health policy, public policy, or public health.
  • 2 years of experience inSQL/Python/Linux.
  • Experience processing and analyzing Medicare, Medicaid, or other commercial claims data.
  • Knowledge of data analysis and data management techniques.
  • Experience with Snowflake and Data brickspreferred, but not required.
