About the Position: National Grid is looking for a qualified One Person Line/Trouble Mechanic in our Liverpool, NY location. At the starting hourly rate of $63.06. In this role the selected candidate will work individually or with additional line, trouble and/or line/trouble mechanics in line construction, maintenance, and trouble response on electric transmission and/or distribution circuits. The One Person Line/Trouble Mechanic will complete various transmission and distribution switching, respond to and repair overhead and underground trouble, operate regulators, reclosures and sectionalizes, install/connect/disconnect services, install and repair streetlights, respond and resolve miscellaneous customer requests, complete third party make ready work, locate electric facilities, apply and remove grounds on 15 kV and below, and set meters. Job Qualifications: Must be a qualified Journeyman Lineman (at least 5 years' experience as a lineman) Ability and willingness to work around hazardous/heavy equipment and energized electrical equipment. Ability and willingness to wear and use safety equipment as required by Company safety rules and federal, state and local regulations. Ability and willingness to travel to various Company locations and remote job sites. Ability and willingness to work different schedules, on holidays and weekends and overtime as required. Ability and willingness to work in a variety of work environments including all weather conditions, at elevated heights (above 30 feet) and in confined spaces. Must have a valid drivers license with a safe driving history that meets National Grids Safe Driver Policy Must possess a CDL A or B (Commercial Driver's License) and a DOT Medical Card Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent. Must pass pre-employment validated company test(s). Must pass physical abilities examination, skills assessment. Salary: $63.06/Hr Please be advised that due to the nature of this position, incumbents are subject to federal Drug & Alcohol safety regulations governing US Department of Transportation ("DOT") covered positions, including the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) and Pipeline Hazardous Material Safety Administration (PHMSA). As such, the Company's testing programs and policies regarding the use of federally prohibited drugs or alcohol, for recreational or medical purposes, will remain in effect for these safety-sensitive, DOT covered positions.
