Overview

VTG is looking for a Agile System Engineer in Chantilly, VA. (Note: Contingent upon program award).

Agile System Engineer I supports Agile Release Train (ART) execution by assisting with coordination, metrics, and ceremony facilitation under the guidance of a senior RTE.

Agile System Engineer II leads Agile Release Train execution, ensuring alignment across teams, stakeholders, and mission objectives while driving predictable delivery.

Agile System Engineer III provides leadership for largescale Agile delivery, ensuring mission alignment, execution discipline, and continuous improvement across one or more Agile Release Trains.


What will you do?

Agile System Engineer I

  • Support planning and execution of ARTlevel Agile ceremonies (PI Planning, Scrum of Scrums, System Demos, Inspect & Adapt)
  • Track programlevel dependencies, risks, and impediments and escalate as needed
  • Assist with ART metrics reporting (velocity, predictability, program risks)
  • Maintain Agile tooling (e.g., Jira, Confluence) to support program transparency
  • Coordinate schedules, action items, and communications across teams
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and Agile best practices adoption

Agile System Engineer II

  • Facilitate and manage ARTlevel ceremonies including PI Planning, Scrum of Scrums, and Inspect & Adapt

  • Identify, track, and resolve crossteam dependencies and impediments

  • Partner with Product Management, System Architects, and Business Owners to align priorities

  • Maintain program execution metrics and report progress, risks, and outcomes

  • Ensure adherence to SAFe processes and continuous improvement practices

  • Coach teams and leaders on Agile and SAFe execution

  • Support integration planning and delivery coordination across teams

Agile System Engineer III

  • Lead endtoend ART execution across complex mission programs
  • Serve as the primary execution partner to government leadership, Product Management, and technical leadership
  • Drive PI Planning, roadmap alignment, and longrange execution strategy
  • Manage programlevel risks, dependencies, and delivery constraints
  • Establish and mature Agile governance, metrics, and execution standards
  • Mentor RTEs, Scrum Masters, and Agile leaders
  • Support executive briefings, program reviews, and strategic planning
  • Enable continuous improvement and organizational Agile maturity

Do you have what it takes?

  • TS/SCI with Poly Required

Agile System Engineer I

  • 1-4 years of experience supporting Agile or program delivery efforts
  • Foundational understanding of SAFe and Agile principles
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, IT, Business, or related field
  • Preferred Qualifications: Exposure to SAFe roles, PI Planning, or large Agile programs, Experience supporting federal, DoD, or IC programs, SAFe or Agile certification (SAFe RTE, CSM, or equivalent)

Agile System Engineer II

  • 5-9 years of Agile delivery or program management experience
  • Handson experience serving as RTE, Scrum Master, or Agile Program Lead
  • Strong knowledge of SAFe frameworks and ART execution
  • Proven ability to manage dependencies and drive delivery across multiple teams
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, IT, Business, or related field
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience supporting IC, DoD, or DOJ programs, Experience with distributed or multivendor Agile environments, SAFe RTE or SAFe Agilist certification

Agile System Engineer III

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, IT, Business, or related field; Masters Preferred
  • 10+ years of experience in Agile delivery, program management, or systems integration
  • Extensive experience leading SAFe Agile Release Trains
  • Strong leadership, facilitation, and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Proven success delivering complex systems in regulated or missioncritical environments
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience supporting IC, DoD, or DOJ mission programs, Experience managing multiple ARTs or largescale Agile transformations, SAFe RTE, SPC, or equivalent senior Agile certification
