Description

We are now hiring an Accounting Assistant for our Accounts Payable team at our administrative office in St Paul, MN. As an Accounting Assistant - AP process vendor invoices. This position can be hybrid after training is complete.

Accounting Assistant - AP Key Responsibilities:



  • Receive, review, and properly code invoices to ASI's general ledger accounts, produce checks, post accounts payable, and disperse checks.
  • Ensure that recurrent invoices are properly initiated as scheduled
  • Maintain and update accounts payable vendor file information
  • Make accurate entries into the ASI or affiliate cash balance sheet
  • Accurately prepare and send annual 1099 forms
  • Assist with semi-annual audits



Candidate must have:



  • A minimum of one year of experience in an accounting position, preferably with exposure to nonprofit fund accounting and parent/affiliate organizational structure
  • Demonstrated clerical and mathematical aptitude, and the ability to complete work with a high degree of accuracy and meeting deadline.
  • The ability to communicate effectively in English in person and over the phone.
  • Ability to work effectively in a busy office environment with multiple distractions.
  • Two-year accounting degree or equivalent combination of education and experience a plus
