Summary of Job Duties:The Associate Chief Clinical Informatics Officer - Pharmacy, Analytics, and Research (ACCIO-PAR) is a pivotal leadership position at UAMS Health, driving innovative informatics initiatives that elevate the organization's data extraction, processing, reporting, and analytics capabilities. Reporting directly to the Chief Clinical Informatics Officer (CCIO), the ACCIO-PAR collaborates across departments to ensure informatics tools are seamlessly aligned with the institution's strategic goals. This role is at the forefront of enterprise-wide clinical informatics solutions, with a specialized focus on pharmacy, leading the operational implementation of informatics projects in this critical area.

* Partner with clinical leadership to design and deploy cutting-edge tools.
* Elevate the informatics expertise of the Department of Pharmacy through mentorship and rigorous oversight.
* Shape the future of informatics in the College of Pharmacy curriculum, mentoring the next generation of professionals.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Doctorate in a medical profession or equivalent (MD, PharmD, Ph.D) plus five (5) years of experience with hospital EMR systems (e.g., EPIC, Cerner).

Specialized Experience in the following:

  • Five (5) plus years of working knowledge of one or more hospital electronic medical record (EMR) vendors, such as EPIC, Cerner, Meditech, or Allscripts
  • Five (5) plus years of relational database experience
  • Five (5) plus years of Epic Clarity report writing experience
  • Five (5) plus years designing and developing packages to transfer data from source to destinations using ETL processes
  • Five (5) plus years of experience with a Business Intelligence Visualization Tool (e.g. Power BI, Tableau, or Qlik)
  • Experience with Microsoft SQL Server, SSIS, or SSAS
  • Experience with Microsoft Office

Licenses, certificates, or registration in the following:

  • Epic Cogito Certification, Physician Builder Certification, and Clinical Informatics Certification are required.

Should the successful applicant not have these Epic certifications, training will be facilitated in the first 6 months of the role.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • General knowledge regarding electronic health record database structure, health record reporting, and data visualization.
  • Skilled in Structured Query Language (SQL).
  • Ability to utilize the following software: Microsoft Power BI and Microsoft Office Suite.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Development and assessment of ML/AI tools
  • Skilled in ETL tools and methods
  • SQL querying
  • Experience writing Power Query, DAX, and MDX for complex data projects
  • Experience creating and maintaining reporting assets in Power BI
  • Experience in Data Mining and Statistical Analysis
  • Experience connecting to APIs

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • General knowledge regarding EPIC electronic health record and Clarity database extractions.
  • Skilled in Python, R.
  • Ability to utilize the following software: Microsoft Power Platform.

Clinical Informatics - Analytics and Research Development

  • Establish data availability and visualization best practices.
  • Develop code for EHR database data extraction.
  • Integrate and visualize data for insights.
  • Create and maintain report dashboards for metrics and reporting.
  • Identify revenue opportunities through data analysis.
  • Coordinate and lead research initiatives.

Institute for Community Health Innovation - Data/Informatics Expertise

  • Provide data and informatics expertise for projects and grants.
  • Develop reporting as needed for projects.

Pharmacy/Informatics/Quality Reporting Oversight & Staff

  • Guide reporting efforts across pharmacy, informatics, and quality.
  • Manage staff focused on reporting and data analytics.
  • Develop staff skills in data analytics tools and Epic EMR Reporting.
  • Conduct annual performance reviews for reporting staff.

College of Pharmacy - Education

  • Serve as preceptor for residency rotations and pharmacy practice experiences.
  • Lead Clinical Informatics Fellowship education on reporting and analytics.
  • Participate in pharmacy residency program development.
  • Develop pharmacy informatics/data analytics coursework.
  • Integrate Epic EHR use into the curriculum.
  • Engage in continuing education and professional advancement.

May perform other duties as assigned
