Space Dynamics Laboratory (SDL) is seeking a Building and Operations Lead to oversee maintenance, management, and general operations of the Randolph Road facilities in Albuquerque, NM. The selected candidate will communicate with customers, security, and management to ensure buildings and operations are properly assessed, monitored, and maintained. Experience in facility operations or government property management is required.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinates and performs maintenance and management of the SDL Randolph Road facilities and general operation in Albuquerque
  • Bridges the gap between daily hands-on work and high-level administrative planning, ensuring buildings remain safe, efficient, and compliant
  • Acts as point of contact for customers, vendor site visits, and tenants
  • Fields questions from, and provides information to, SDL HQ related to facilities and operations including safety concerns, upcoming or necessary inspections, quality assurance, maintenance, property, shipping and receiving, and repairs
  • Oversees preventive maintenance, repairs, and custodial services and assists with the preparation and review of specifications, solicits bids, and monitors the performance ofoutside contractors
  • Coordinates and supports remodels and construction projects
  • Supports security with emergency response protocol and after-hours call-ins
  • Shipping, Receiving, and Property Management
    • Oversees and prepares shipping documents for local deliveries and outgoing shipments, including coordination with transport activity
    • Receives packages and processes incoming shipments
    • Records maintenance: handles shipping log, processing, barcodes, labels, ad assets related records, and inventory
    • Creates appropriate custody-transfer documentation as needed
    • Creates title-transfer and delivery acceptance documentation for property "delivered" to the customer upon receipt
  • QA Receiving Inspection
    • Validates purchase orders
    • Validates, inspects, and approves the quality of incoming parts, materials, and assemblies based on established acceptance criteria
    • Documents inspection results and enter parts into SDL's material management system
  • Logistics and Building Space Management
    • Coordinates space utilization (labs and offices)
    • Assists as needed with the setup and moving of office furniture
    • Signage compliance
    • Coordinates and supports event setup and teardown
Qualifications:
  • Education:A bachelor's degree in facilities management, business administration, or engineering is preferred
  • Experience:5-10 years of experience in facility operations or government property management, with at least 3-4 years in a supervisory or lead capacity
  • Certifications: Certified Facility Manager (CFM), Certified Professional Property Manager (CPPM), or specific building code certifications preferred
  • Must demonstrate extreme autonomy in prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines without supervisor's daily oversight
  • Requires strongcollaboration skills to drive results across different groups
Salary Range
  • Salary commensurate on education and relevant experience
