Job Description

We have an opening for a Treasury and Accounts Receivable Accountant (C02.1) to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. You will work under established procedures and direction to support OCFO treasury, banking, and accounts receivable operations. Responsibilities include reconciliations, month-end journal entries, subledger accounting support, and audit readiness for banking and receivables-related activity. This position is in the Financial Accounting & Treasury Division of the Office of the CFO.

You will

  • Support day-to day activity for assigned bank accounts by following established procedures; research issues and escalate for resolution; and assist with troubleshooting bank transaction issues and provide input on process improvements.
  • Verify funding and routing attributes against established guidance; resolve routine exceptions and escalate non-routine items to senior staff for review and determination. Collaborate with banking contacts as needed under guidance to support routine requests.
  • Process and reconcile interagency payments and receipts, matching to source documents, and assisting with reconciliations.
  • Track, research, and apply receipts and checks to the appropriate project/task or general ledger accounts; clear suspense accounts as needed.
  • Assist with month-end close activities, including preparation of routine journal entries with review/approval by senior staff.
  • Execute assigned subledger steps and run standard processes/reports; reconcile to supporting detail and retain documentation for audit support.
  • Support reporting and reconciliations by compiling data and preparing reports for review.
  • Use Oracle standard reports and internal reporting tools to reconcile weekly and monthly activity; reconcile general ledger journals to supporting transaction detail.
  • Use Excel to download, reformat, summarize (including pivoting), and analyze transactional data to support reconciliations, month-end journals, and audit requests.
  • Compile and provide supporting documentation for internal and external audits, with review by senior staff prior to submission. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Ability to secure and maintain a U.S. DOE Q-level security clearance which requires U.S. citizenship.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or related field, or equivalent combination of related experience, education, and training.
  • Knowledge of financial accounting principles, including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Basic experience with Oracle and/or other ERP system and running standard reports; ability to work with subledger outputs.
  • Proficiency with Excel for tracking, reconciliation, and summarizing financial data.
  • Ability to interpret and apply financial policies and procedures, resolve issues, and meet time-sensitive deadlines while working on multiple tasks.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to maintain effective working relationships with internal and external partners.

Pay Range

$79,920 - $97,848 Annually (C02.1)

This is the lowest to highest salary range in good faith we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. An employee's position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, specific competencies, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.
