About the Role

We are looking for a Field Sales/Business Development associate to join our Fabrics North America Defense sales team. If you have a passion for selling premium apparel products to support the warfighter, then we are looking for you! In this role, you will sell and promote GORE-TEX products to branches of the department of defense in North America. If you enjoy learning about technical products and working through the contractual nature of the business, please consider joining our team.

This is a remote position, and you can work from home in most locations within the United States. There is a preference for candidates to be located in the eastern United States.

Pay and Benefits:

  • $130,000 - $160,000 per year
  • Roles above $150k are eligible for the variable pay program each fiscal year, based on defined business performance metrics.

Responsibilities
  • Drive growth in mature markets, by setting and achieving aggressive sales goals for key accounts
  • Develop and implement account plans, including long-term winning account strategies, objectives and opportunities; this plan is to be used as the basis for internal and external periodic reviews
  • Build and maintain deep and broad knowledge of the customers business through relationship development at all levels within a customer's structure; by deeply understanding customer stakeholder needs, build value for those needs through strategy development, position product benefits to key stakeholders and deeply understand the key priorities of various decision-makers
  • Understand the market by spending time in the field, being an active listener during account interactions and gathering intelligence from various other sources
  • Understand our products by continuously showing curiosity with products specialists, application engineers, other sales associates and all potential information sources
  • Understand exactly what a customer needs to be successful and translate those needs effectively internally (forecasting, account plans,oportunity management trip reports, utilization of SalesForce)

Required Qualifications
  • Minimum of 10 years of service in a branch of the military
  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written), including listening skills
  • Ability to create long standing relationships
  • Desire and ability to gain deep product knowledge and leverage this knowledge to identify and close customer opportunities.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive growth by uncovering, developing and winning complex opportunities in a fast paced, demanding and mature market environment
  • Ability to influence key internal and external stakeholders to drive sales opportunities to completion while successfully developing lasting relationships with multiple levels of customer organizations
  • Ability to navigate a matrix organization
  • Ability and willingness to access US Military Bases and attend Defense Trade Shows.
  • Ability to travel up to 30% (with seasonal travel slightly higher)
Desired Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Sales or business development experience
  • Proficiency using computer software and applications (ie. SalesForce, Anaplan)
  • Familiarity in military kit

This position offers a remote work arrangement in the country from which the Associate is employed, Eligibility is dependent on the responsibilities of the role and business needs, and the Associate must agree to comply with Gore's work arrangement policies.
