Position summary:

Entry level professional role with early ownership of defined workstreams. Training is provided in the first months; the analyst is expected to independently execute routine updates and data maintenance as proficiency grows, with progressive expansion of responsibilities across gas and electric SCADA environments.

Pay Range: This posting includes the full pay range for this position. Pay is based on a number of factors and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and internal equity.
Level I: $66,950 - $100,500
Level II: $79,400 - $119,100
Senior: $93,150 - $139,900
Principal: $97,150 - $160,150

Reporting Relationship: SCADA Systems Manager

Location: Rapid City, SD

Relocation Assistance: Relocation assistance is available based on individual circumstances! Details to be shared during the offer process.

Essential Functions:
* Administer and maintain SCADA, FEP, OPCUA and related databases, build/maintain one line diagrams, tabular displays, complete point-to-point checkout to established standards.
* Configure and maintain FEP and AutoSol polling of RTU/IED field devices with a variety of protocols (e.g., DNP3/Modbus); investigate and resolve routine data quality and communication issues, collaborating or escalating as needed to ensure consistency for real-time systems. Document findings, corrective actions, and compliance related aspects of supporting comms.
* Troubleshooting support for SCADA/EMS/DMS/GMS AND Gas applications with configuration, testing, remediation, and documenting findings or corrective actions.
* Provide responsive support to Electric System Operations and Gas Control; implement timely display/point corrections to ensure real time accuracy and document changes as required.
* Own assigned tasks for project work, field changes, and documentation; participate as needed in system outages and recovery and post-event analysis.

Additional Responsibilities:
* Owns assigned deliverables and independently executes routine updates and troubleshooting.
* Escalates non-routine or system-wide changes.

What Is Required:
All Levels:
* Associate's Degree in engineering/technology related to SCADA, industrial control systems, electrical power systems, or gas pipeline systems, or equivalent experience.
* This position requires driving responsibilities. You must hold and maintain a valid driver's license and a driving record that meets company and insurer standards.
* This role will be required to travel up to 10% of the time.
Level I:
* Strong technical aptitude; ability to learn new systems as technology evolves.
Level II:
* Three or more years of utility operations experience, combined with Gas/Electric SCADA systems experience.
Senior:
* Five or more years of utility operations experience, combined with Gas/Electric SCADA system experience.
Principal:
* Seven or more years of utility operations experience, combined with Gas/Electric SCADA systems experience.

What Is Desired:
* No prior SCADA or utility experience required; training provided
* Familiarity with both gas and electric utility operations and control center practices.
* Ability to update and maintain displays and one-lines (no coding required).
* Basic familiarity with networking concepts (routers, switches, firewalls) and communication protocols.
* Awareness of security and compliance expectations applicable to SCADA (NERC/CIP, PHMSA context).
* Ability to collaborate effectively with multiple groups to execute work using multiple communication forums; email, chat, phone, verbal, etc.
* Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills and ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
