Job Description




Allied Universal is hiring a Security Professional Flex Officer. The Security Professional Flex Officer will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, Education, Finance and more. The Gallery Officer is critical member of the Museum's protective staff, the position has as its primary responsibility the safety and security of works of art on view in the Museum. A Gallery Officer represents the Museum to its visitors both assuring the safety and security of works of art. Gallery Officers shares a flexible schedule with others on the Gallery Attendant staff that is based around the Museum's regular public hours, including evenings and weekends. A Gallery Officer will also be assigned duty during private events that occur outside regular public hours. The uniformed employee has a significant role at the institution and represents the Museum and its mission to the general public.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Protects works of art from theft, vandalism, and accidental damage.
* Interacts with visitors to give directions, information, and provide general assistance.
* Assures visitor compliance with Museum regulations as listed in the Gallery Attendant Standard Operating Procedures manual.
* Answers general questions from Museum visitors and refers questions concerning works of art or Museum exhibitions to the Visitor Information Desk for referral to appropriate Museum staff.
* When assigned to the information desk, greets and counts visitors; checks all packages and umbrellas. * Assists the Gallery Supervisor in opening and closing the Museum.
* Assists Gallery Supervisor in managing pantry area. * Inspects works on view in assigned area at beginning and end of each rotation.
* Assists with other Museum activities as assigned. Reports to: Assistant Gallery Supervisor/Gallery Super Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:
* Must be able to stand for long periods of time, walk, climb stairs, and lift up to 50 lbs.; (must be able to lift a fire extinguisher or small child).
* Should have good verbal communication skills in order to speak to visitors and be understood.
* Must be tactful and polite in dealing with the public.
* Must be presentable at all times through proper grooming and personal hygiene.
* Must be observant in order to detect and report unusual behavior or circumstances.
* Must be alert and able to respond quickly in an emergencies
*Must be able to work a flexible schedule.
*Post is a standing post, must be able to stand and walk entire shift ( rest breaks are given). No electronic device while on post.

QUALIFICATIONS (MUST HAVE):

    Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent or 5 years of verifiable experience
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment
  • Valid driver's license if driving a company or customer-owned vehicle
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws; Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law
  • No prior experience required
  • Be at least 21 years of age, or higher if required by the state (21 years, if armed)
  • Reliability and ability to adapt to different post assignments
  • Be able to operate radio or telephone equipment and/or console monitors
  • Demonstrated ability to interact cordially and communicate with the public
  • Effective oral and written communication skills; able to write informatively, clearly, and accurately
  • Active listening and problem-solving skills
  • Assess and evaluate situations effectively; identify critical issues quickly and accurately
  • Mediate conflict with tact, diplomacy
  • Teamwork
  • Attention to detail

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (NICE TO HAVE):

  • Ability to speak, read, and write in multiple languages (e.g., Spanish, Portuguese, French, Arabic)
  • Prior security, military, or law enforcement experience
