Job Description: UMD Stores - Principle Accounts Specialist (Executive Accounts Specialist, 1888)

Bargaining unit consideration begins on 3/9/2026 and ends on 3/16/2026

  • $24.14 - $25.50 per hour
  • Monday to Friday, 8 am to 2:30 pm
  • This is a 30 hour per week, 12 month position

This position supports the Financial Department of the UMD Stores. Duties are primarily in the areas of accounts payable, Buyer/Supplier inquiries, P-Card payments, and supplier setup.

Key Responsibilities

Accounts Payable - 70%

  • Process invoices and credit memos
  • Invoice matching
  • Enter data into MBS system
  • Document upload to FinOps template for PeopleSoft processing
  • Delivery to Controller's office for imaging

Invoice and Disbursement Inquiries - 20%

  • Research and resolve Buyer and Supplier inquiries
  • Partner with Disbursement Services and the UMD Controller's Office to resolve any payables issues.
  • Maintain files in UMD Stores' Accounts Receivable department

Other Financial Support - 10%:

  • Monthly Payment Card (P-Card) processing
  • Supplier setup
  • Serves as backup for the UMD Stores Cash Room
  • Any other duties as assigned
Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/GED plus four (4) years of general accounts transaction experience. Training/education may be substituted for some of the years of experience. Computer experience required. Specific knowledge/skills may be required.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Experience using various software solutions (e.g., MS-Excel, email, etc.).
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Action oriented - Operates with a sense of urgency and accountability

Physical/Other Requirements

  • Work varied hours/days as business dictates
Pay and Benefits

Pay Range: $24.14 - $25.50 per hour; depending on education/qualifications/experience

Time Appointment: 100% Appointment

Position Type: Civil-Service & Non-Faculty Labor Represented Staff
