Facility Operations Technician Date: March 13, 2026 Department: Maintenance Business Unit: Icon Shelters Location: Holland, MI Reports To: Production Manager - Brian Conrad FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Compensation: Hourly Summary The Facility Operations Technician is responsible for ensuring the efficient and safe operation of all facility systems and equipment within Icon along with supporting manufacturing. This role involves performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs of machinery, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and other critical facility infrastructure. The technician will also assist with facility inspections, facility improvements, and general upkeep to ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards. Also, this individual will be looked upon to provide support in manufacturing from being able to pick up and deliver loads as needed to operating a production saw. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Facility Maintenance:
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on all mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and safety systems within the facility.
- Conduct inspections of equipment, machinery, and systems to identify potential issues and ensure proper functioning.
- Respond to emergency maintenance requests and resolve facility-related problems quickly and efficiently.
- Equipment and Machinery Repairs:
- Diagnose and repair malfunctioning machinery or facility systems to minimize downtime.
- Perform preventative maintenance (PM) checks and calibrations of production equipment and associated systems.
- Collaborate with production teams to address equipment-related concerns.
- Maintain records of all repairs, maintenance activities, and system inspections, in ERP system.
- Health, Safety, and Compliance:
- Ensure that all facility operations comply with OSHA and local safety regulations.
- Monitor and maintain safety equipment, fire extinguishers, emergency exits, and alarms.
- Support safety audits, risk assessments, and inspections to maintain a safe working environment.
- Facility Improvement and Projects:
- Assist in the implementation of facility upgrades, renovations, and new equipment installations.
- Recommend improvements to facility systems and operations to optimize efficiency.
- Monitor energy consumption and recommend cost-saving strategies.
- Inventory and Supply Management:
- Maintain an inventory of spare parts, tools, and equipment necessary for facility operations.
- Order and procure materials and supplies needed for maintenance tasks.
- Track and manage the usage of tools and equipment to ensure availability when needed.
- Ability to paint protective and decorative coatings to steel structures and components using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment. Responsibilities include surface preparation (e.g., sanding, grinding, or blasting), mixing and applying paints according to specifications, and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
- Ability to perform jobs such as welding, using the saw and drill.
- Make deliveries and pickups when needed locally.
- Run skill saw for period of time to complete job's requiring specific operation.

Education and/or Experience
- Machinery repair journeyman status preferred
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Clean driving record
Preferred Requirements
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL), if applicable to vehicle class
- Current and valid Department of Transportation (DOT) Medical Examiner's Certificate (DOT card)
- Must meet all DOT requirements for commercial motor vehicle operation
- Ability to pass regular DOT physical exams and comply with company drug and alcohol testing policies
Travel
- This position requires some travel to job sites to assist with field issues to include, but not all inclusive of, deliveries, pick up parts, paint, supplies and tools.
Computer Skills
- Demonstrated proficiency with MS Outlook, Teams, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Access
- Demonstrated proficiency using EPICOR ERP or similar systems
- Strong knowledge in cloud based operating systems
Other Requirements
- Strong mechanical knowledge in Hydraulics, Pneumatics, PLC Logic and troubleshooting, Welding and Torch Operation and Assembly and Disassembly
- Basic electrical, controls and PLC knowledge
- Must maintain a clean driving record
- Knowledge of lubricants
- Knowledge of Preventive Maintenance practices and procedures
- Strong troubleshooting skills
- Ability to envision, suggest and implement solutions to issues
- Must be organized, neat and professional
- Must be able to work individually and as part of a team

- Maintain and Improve PM's that assures the highest level of equipment uptime
- Serve Internal Customer expediently
- Improve existing PM procedures to improve equipment uptime
- Develop a plan to assure that equipment is meeting latest OSHA requirements
- Develop a plan to assure that equipment is up to date and a component replacement plan is in place
- Inform Management Team of potential high equipment repair expenses
- Keep the critical parts inventory up to date
- Assist other team members when needed
