Position Summary

The Registered Nurse (RN) serves as a key clinical member of the healthcare team, providing direct patient care, clinical assessment, patient education, care coordination, and nursing leadership within a busy multi-specialty clinic environment.

This role offers the opportunity to utilize critical thinking, clinical judgment, and advanced nursing skills while building meaningful relationships with patients and families. The RN collaborates closely with physicians, advanced practice providers, specialists, and community resources to ensure exceptional outcomes and a positive patient experience.

What You'll Do Direct Patient Care & Clinical Assessment
  • Perform comprehensive patient assessments and nursing evaluations.
  • Triage patient concerns utilizing evidence-based nursing judgment.
  • Collect and document patient histories, vital signs, and clinical information in the electronic medical record (EMR).
  • Prepare patients for examinations, treatments, and procedures.
  • Administer medications, injections, immunizations, and physician-ordered treatments.
  • Perform venipuncture, specimen collection, and laboratory preparation.
  • Monitor patient response to treatment and communicate findings to providers.
  • Assist physicians and advanced practice providers during examinations and procedures.
  • Perform advanced nursing procedures within scope of licensure, including wound care, IV therapy, procedural assistance, and other delegated clinical interventions.
Care Coordination & Patient Advocacy
  • Coordinate patient care across providers, specialists, facilities, and community resources.
  • Manage referrals, diagnostic testing, and follow-up appointments.
  • Obtain prior authorizations for medications, procedures, and diagnostic studies.
  • Review and communicate laboratory and diagnostic results to patients.
  • Identify and address barriers to care while advocating for patient needs.
  • Promote continuity of care and positive patient outcomes.
Patient Education
  • Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, preventive care, and disease management.
  • Develop individualized education plans using evidence-based nursing practices.
  • Support patients managing acute and chronic health conditions.
  • Encourage patient engagement and participation in their plan of care.
Quality & Clinical Excellence
  • Ensure compliance with nursing standards, clinic policies, and IPM quality initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and thorough clinical documentation.
  • Support patient safety initiatives and infection prevention practices.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and well-stocked patient care areas.
  • Participate in quality improvement and process improvement efforts.
Leadership & Professional Practice

Qualifications

Requirements:

Education/Certification:

  • RN - Completion of nursing training from an accredited school of nursing. Minimum of two (2) years college or associate degree. BSN preferred.
  • Current BLS/CPR certification required.
  • Current state registered nurse license.

Work experience:

  • Minimum of one to three (1-3) years working as a Registered Nurse required.
  • Three to five (3-5) years of related experience (preferred).

Knowledge:

  • General office procedures

Skills:

  • Proficiency in basic computer programs and operating systems, such as Microsoft Office
  • Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.

Abilities:

  • Must be able to perform courteously and professionally in all interactions.

Equipment Operated:

  • Office equipment such as fax machine, copier and telephone system
  • EKG machine
  • Computer

Work environment:

  • Works in a well-lighted, OSHA Standard environment
  • May be exposed to infectious and contagious diseases
  • May be in contact with patients under a wide variety of circumstances
  • Occasionally subject to irregular hours
  • May be required to wear personal protective equipment as necessary

Mental/Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to handle emergency or crisis situation
  • Must be able to see with corrective eye wear
  • Must be able to hear clearly with assistance
