Description
The Parts Solutions Specialist is responsible for working with all departments within Thompson Tractor, Caterpillar, the Caterpillar Dealer Network, as well as independent suppliers in an effort to promote Parts Solutions as a viable option for their parts and component needs. This includes working with the product support sales representatives, parts, managers, service managers, and their direct reports, as well as dealing directly with our many customers. Essential Responsibilities & Expectation
- Increase awareness in all divisions of what Parts Solutions can offer (new, rebuilt, used, etc.)
- Increase parts solutions and service sales throughout the company and abroad
- Develop, establish, and maintain customer relationships (both internally and externally)
- Maintain proper paperwork in a timely manner
- Assist when called upon
- Make good judgement decisions in regard to the needs of the customer
- Respond appropriately to customer demands
- Have strong verbal communications with customers, department heads, and counter groups
- Follow up on previous quotes and inquiries
- Minimize customer downtime by offering cost saving options
- Reconcile purchase orders and ensure our vendors are paid in a timely manner
- Assist accounting with past due purchase orders
- Assist the credit department as needed on past due invoices
- Pull and inspect parts when required
- Assist in shipping of orders when required
- Price, input and maintain inventory on a daily basis
- Maintaining our inventory search systems
- Negotiating purchase and selling prices of merchandise and freight
Qualifications Education High school diploma or the equivalent required. Experience
- Basic computer skills, including experience using Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word, required.
- The ability to effectively accomplish goals and tasks while working independently required.
- Mechanical experience/aptitude preferred but not required.

Safety Summary Working Conditions
- Work is normally performed in an office setting.
- Physical work in handling some of the parts that are ordered and sold is required.
- There are extended periods of time handling phone calls, sending and receiving emails, and face time with customers and department heads and/or counter employees.
