Position Summary

Educational Products, Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented Purchasing Planner to support data driven purchasing decisions and inventory planning activities. This role focuses on monitoring inventory data, reviewing sales trends, and supporting purchasing decisions through accurate reporting and analysis.

This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career professional who enjoys working with data, using Excel to analyze information, and solving operational problems. The position works closely with vendors and internal teams to help ensure products are available to meet customer demand.

The ideal candidate is organized, analytical, extremely accurate, and able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities



  • Review inventory and sales reports to help determine reorder quantities and maintain appropriate stock levels.
  • Analyze inventory levels to identify potential shortages or overstock situations.
  • Use Excel to track inventory trends, product performance, and purchasing activity.
  • Enter and process purchase orders with vendors and monitor open purchase orders to ensure timely delivery.
  • Communicate with vendors regarding order status and backorders.
  • Maintain purchasing and inventory records including costs, delivery dates, and product performance.
  • Research and help resolve invoice discrepancies.
  • Set up and maintain item information in the system, including pricing and product details.
  • Review Amazon sales and inventory reports and help monitor inventory related to Amazon orders.
  • Work with internal departments to ensure customer deadlines are met and assist with identifying opportunities to improve purchasing and inventory processes.


Qualifications



  • Bachelor's degree preferred in Supply Chain, Business, Logistics, Finance, Economics, or a related field preferred but not required.
  • Zero to two years of experience in purchasing, inventory management, supply chain, operations, or data related roles preferred.


Technical Skills



  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills including formulas, lookup functions, and pivot tables.
  • Ability to analyze and organize datasets to identify trends, discrepancies, and inventory insights.
  • Experience using Excel to support inventory tracking, product performance analysis, and purchasing decisions.
  • Experience with inventory or purchasing systems is helpful but not required.
