Operations, Summer Intern

Orbis is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Summer Intern to support our Operations team with business analysis, open-source intelligence (OSINT) research, and project management support. This internship offers hands-on experience supporting operational initiatives, research projects, and analytical efforts within a collaborative professional environment.

Duties/Responsibilities

• Support the Operations team with ongoing initiatives including research, analysis, and project coordination
• Conduct open-source intelligence (OSINT) research, market research, and competitive analysis to support operational and program needs
• Assist with business analysis tasks, including gathering, organizing, and analyzing operational data
• Support project management activities, including tracking action items, documenting processes, and assisting with project deliverables
• Compile research findings and help prepare reports, briefings, and presentations
• Assist with identifying process improvements and operational efficiencies
• Organize and maintain project documentation and research materials
• Provide general administrative and operational support to team initiatives as needed

Supervisory Responsibilities

• This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Required Skills/Abilities

• Strong research, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to organize information and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
• Interest in business analysis, operations, consulting, intelligence research, or data analysis
• Must be able to work up to 30 hours per week during the summer internship period
• Must be local to the Washington, DC Metro Area

Desired Skills/Abilities

• Current college junior entering senior year pursuing a bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Business Analytics, Economics, Intelligence Studies, Political Science, International Relations, Data Analytics, or a related field
• Interest or coursework related to business analytics, operations strategy, research analysis, or OSINT
• Experience conducting research, data analysis, or academic projects involving analytical reporting

Physical Requirements

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Routine video conference and/or in-person meetings.
• Position requires 3-5 days in the McLean office per week.
