The Cyber Security and Information Sciences, Lincoln Laboratory conducts research, development, evaluation, and deployment of prototype components and systems designed to improve the security of computer networks, hosts, and applications. A particular focus is the intersection between the Laboratory's traditional mission areas and the cyber domain. In the human language technology area, emphasis is placed on realistic data and experimental evaluation of techniques for speech recognition, speaker recognition, language and dialect identification, speech and audio signal enhancement, and machine translation.


Position Description

MIT Lincoln Laboratory is seeking a highly experienced strategic leader and cyber expert to serve as Principal Administrative Staff at the Fort Meade Field Site, MD. The role involves shaping national posture and the Laboratory's impact within the cyber and information operations community, which includes intelligence, R&D, acquisition, operational teams, planners, mission commanders, and national senior leaders.


Key Responsibilities

  • Strengthen MIT Lincoln Laboratory's Cyber Security and Information Sciences Division's presence with government sponsors and organizations at Fort Meade, MD, and associated sites in Georgia, Texas, and Hawaii.
  • Shape the national posture and enable the Laboratory to achieve mission impact for complex government cyber and information warfare operational missions through strategic planning and solution development.
  • Facilitate critical discussions and secure access to senior decision-makers to improve collaboration.
  • Leverage significant experience in strategic-level and operational-level cyber and information warfare to mentor Laboratory personnel and improve outcomes.
  • Enhance team building with collaborators from other FFRDCs and UARCs.


Secondary Responsibilities

  • Assist technology leaders at the Laboratory to ensure their efforts are informed by and visible to the cyber and information operations community.
  • Strengthen relationships with traditional and non-traditional defense industries and commercial companies.
  • Identify technology transition and collaboration opportunities.
  • Engage with key stakeholders across the DoD, IC, and potentially other government agencies.


Qualifications And Experience

  • Minimum of 15 years' experience in DoD cyber operations, including cyber attack and defense.
  • Strong understanding and experience with cyber and information operations, threat intelligence, and national cyber and information operations strategy.
  • Familiarity with operational missions of USCYBERCOM, CNMF, DCDC, Service Cyber Components, National Guard, SOCOM, NSA, DISA.
  • Minimum of 20 years government service, including leadership at the O-7 (or above) flag officer or senior executive level.
  • Strategic and operational experience in DoD and IC cyber and information operations with the ability to engage at the highest levels.
  • Extensive network of contacts within the Pentagon, DoD, and IC leadership.
  • Proven ability to navigate complex government environments and promote effective team-building.
  • Excellent communication, diplomacy, and negotiation skills.
  • Active DoD and IC security clearances with full-scope polygraph.


Hiring Range: $174,000-$234,000
