We are currently offering a $1,500 sign-on bonus for Welder new hires, payable after 90 days of employment.
Carter Machinery Company, the authorized Caterpillar dealer serving Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, Delaware and Washington D.C. is hiring a Welder in Chesapeake, Virginia. The Welder is responsible for assisting with fabricating new components and welding, fabricating, retrofitting, and repairing metals and other weldable materials by applying appropriate welding techniques. Seeking candidates with a High school diploma or GED, required; Minimum one year experience welding and fabricating on heavy equipment with portable machines; Experience using precision instruments (micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, etc.), preferred. Requirements for the Welder position include:
Physical requirements must be met for the Welder job, including frequently sitting for extended periods of time. The employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear. The employees must routinely lift and/or move up to 70 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
