Summary of Job Duties:The University Registered Nurse provides comprehensive nursing care, health education, and wellness support to students, contributing to a healthy and safe campus environment. The role blends clinical care, public health coordination, emergency response, and wellness programming, while managing the daily operations of the Randy S. Risher Wellness Center.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Care: Assess and treat minor illnesses and injuries, administer medications, provide first aid and emergency response, maintain confidential medical records, coordinate referrals, and assist students in navigating healthcare resources.

Health Education & Wellness: Lead campus-wide health education initiatives, screenings, prevention programs, and nationally recognized health awareness campaigns.

Collaboration & Partnerships: Work closely with Counseling Services, Residence Life, Athletics, University Police, Academic Affairs, and community healthcare providers to support student wellbeing.

Crisis Response & Safety: Participate in campus emergency response, serve on the Behavior Intervention Team (BIT), and assist with student case management during health or emotional crises.

Public Health & Compliance: Coordinate communicable disease monitoring, COVID and other public health protocols, emergency preparedness, and compliance with state and federal health regulations.

Administrative & Operational Support: Assist with clinic operations, infection control, supply inventory, AED and opioid overdose prevention programs, staff training, reporting requirements, and Workers' Compensation cases.

University Service: Serve on campus committees supporting student engagement, wellness, and other areas of the campus as needed. Qualifications:
  • Required: Active Arkansas RN license, CPR/BLS certification, and 1-2 years of clinical nursing experience, experience in college health or work with young adult populations.

  • Preferred: Bachelor of Science in Nursing; community or primary care; public health or wellness programming experience.
