Job Summary
The Vice President, Public Sector will provide day-to-day execution of investment banking mandates (Debt Capital Markets and Public Finance opportunities) as well as support new business development initiatives.

Essential Functions

  • Revenue generation based on existing or new clients
  • Leading teams of Associates and Analysts in the provision of financing services to clients as well as the creation and preparation of presentation and pitch materials; mentoring, coaching, and assisting in the development of Associates and Analysts in the Public Finance Group
  • Managing and executing tasks encompassing comprehensive financial modeling and valuation analyses
  • Analyzing the financial statements and operating metrics within KBCM's Public Finance focus sectors to generate industry insights
  • Developing a thorough understanding of the trends and competitive dynamics within the sector
  • Understanding the financial impact of decisions on the client's organization
  • Coordinating the appropriate organizational resources to deliver product solutions and advice to clients
  • Maintaining frequent and appropriate communications with team members and product partners throughout the firm
  • Eventually begin to assume origination responsibilities in accordance with the strategic direction of the group, including but not limited to: identifying and calling on prospects; the creation, analysis, and presentation of actionable ideas; and originating new client mandates
  • Ongoing involvement in the identification and recruitment of potential new hire candidates for the group as well as other franchise-building activities
  • Performs other duties as assigned; duties, responsibilities and/or activities may change or new ones may be assigned at any time with or without notice
  • Complies with all KeyBank policies and procedures, including without limitation, acting professionally at all times, conducting business ethically, avoiding conflicts of interest, and acting in the best interests of Key's clients and Key.

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Business Admin, Economics or Liberal Arts (preferred)
  • Master's Degree in Business Administration (preferred)
  • OR equivalent experience (required)

Work Experience

  • 5+ years of investment banking experience (required)
  • Relevant client interaction and transaction experience in the Public Finance industry (required)

Licenses and Certifications

  • FINRA License S7 within 1 Year (required)
  • FINRA License S63 within 1 Year (required)
  • FINRA License S52 within 1 Year (required)

  • Projects financial outcomes to support client planning and transaction structuring
  • Prepares and reviews financial documents and summaries
  • Oversees financial aspects of transactions and client engagements
  • Supports investment strategies aligned with client goals
  • Interprets financial data to support structuring and execution of deals
  • Collects and organizes data for internal and client-facing materials

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

This position is eligible to earn a base salary in the range of $116,000.00 - $216,000.00 annually. Placement within the pay range may differ based upon various factors, including but not limited to skills, experience and geographic location. Compensation for this role also includes eligibility for incentive compensation which may include production, commission, and/or discretionary incentives.
