About the University of Cincinnati's IDD Education Center The University of Cincinnati's IDD Education Center provides life-changing programs for teens and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) to further their education, independence, and life skills. Program participants reach their potential and find their purpose in a community that accepts and supports them to be the best they can be. The Transition and Access Pathways (TAP) program is a full-time, four-year college experience for students with intellectual or developmental disabilities (IDD). Aligned with the University of Cincinnati's Next Lives Here strategic direction, TAP helps students grow through academic achievement, career readiness, personal development, and strong social connections. Job Overview Teach, design, manage, evaluate, and modify programs, courses, and interventions for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in the Transition and Access Pathways (TAP) program. Primary focus area is the academic success of TAP students Essential Functions Program Management: Manage, design, develop, modify and present academic programs and extracurricular activities including annual Summer Workshop. Collect, monitor, and maintain, student and program specific data and prepare related reports. Teaching: Up to 50% of annual workload can be teaching, including the planning, development, and implementation of courses and adjunct support. Primary focus: Academic Support. Academic Advising: Evaluate student needs and provide appropriate individualized interventions and recommendations for academic pathway. Conduct weekly student check-ins. Provide guidance on academic, career, and personal matters. Support may include developing and implementing evidence-based interventions or referral to university, local, or other agency resources, as well as supporting students through educational transition processes (orientation, transition, graduation). Student Worker Supervision: May provide direct and/or indirect supervision to student workers, graduate assistants, and other volunteers working as academic coaches. Partnerships: Act as liaison to internal departments, external entities and community organizations. This may include monthly meetings and/or quarterly training. Specific relationships managed may include UC Admissions, UC Accessibility Resources, faculty teaching elective courses and/or researchers. Host weekly office hours for partners. Required Education Bachelor's degree Five (5) years of relevant education, experience and/or other specialized training can fulfill minimum education and experience requirements Required Experience One (1) year of program coordination experience, particularly with individuals with intellectual and development disabilities.
