Role Overview & Responsibilities

Asset Management Private is seeking an Analyst to join the Sustainability & Impact team to support the Private Equity Investing business, specifically working with the Private Equity Global Sustainability & Impact Lead. The successful candidate will join the Global Sustainability & Impact Lead and the rest of the Sustainability & Impact team in the management and execution of the Private Equity sustainability strategy, including implementing sustainability initiatives throughout the deal life cycle and reporting to various internal and external stakeholders. This individual will serve as a sustainability generalist and support function for the Private Equity Division.


Job Responsibilities
Manage sustainability data collection and analysis

  • Work with the rest of the Sustainability & Impact ("S&I") team to manage data collection from portfolio companies including performing quality assurance and quality control of received data
  • Work with Private Equity portfolio companies to onboard sustainability data tools for GS reporting requirements including, GHG calculation and sustainability data collection tools
  • Create project analytics and maintain dashboards/basic sustainability data summaries, year-over-year trends, etc., at the portfolio company and fund levels
  • Work with the S&I data team and sustainability data vendor to create new dashboards and analytics for portfolio company and fund level data
  • Work with the Global Sustainability & Impact Lead to accurately reflect data within various regulatory, voluntary and client reports


Assist in AWM Private Equity Sustainability reporting, including:

  • SFDR, TCFD, Private Equity Sustainability Report, UK Stewardship Code, UN PRI content creation and management of cross-divisional review/comment integration
  • Identify and track investments that are in scope for the Firm's $750bn Sustainable Investing target
  • Partner with internal teams to answer client DDQs and sustainability data and information requests
  • Work with deal teams on the creation of sustainability case studies and program highlights for client meetings, reporting and marketing initiatives
  • Collaborate with the rest of the Sustainability & Impact team to prepare information for leadership updates


Underwriting and deal support

  • Support the Global Sustainability & Impact Lead on deal due diligence execution, including conducting relevant sustainability, SFDR, materiality and climate assessments using internal tools and external vendors and prepare investment committee materials as needed
  • Support the identification and prioritization of Sustainability initiatives for post-close implementation


Sustainability portfolio project management and initiative tracking, including:

  • Coordinate with deal teams and portfolio companies on Sustainability action plans, including post-close requirements and value creation initiatives
  • Support portfolio company GHG emissions tracking and decarbonization planning (as required)
  • Support portfolio company specific ongoing Sustainability risk monitoring and relevant mitigation
  • Work with the Private Equity Global Sustainability & Impact Lead to build out and update Sustainability tools and communications materials, including:

    • Sustainability Guidebooks and Toolkits
    • Sustainability Materiality Tools, DD checklists, Value Creation Maturity Maps
    • Sustainability training materials for Deal Teams and Portfolio Companies


  • Engage with and manage external vendors
  • Manage and support external vendor relationships that enable the Private Equity Sustainability program to scale, including regular engagement to monitor deliverables, developments, and project progress
  • Identify, evaluate, and propose new vendors and partnerships in collaboration with internal stakeholders


Education

Bachelor's Degree


Desired Qualifications

  • 2-3 years of sustainability program/project management consulting, data management and analysis, and/or reporting experience
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to manage internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to create and format a presentation (in PowerPoint and other applications) with a high-quality and professional appearance
  • Comfortable working within Excel
  • Highly organized, self-motivated, and strong attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritize workload and proactively resolves task/project ambiguity; sense of urgency
  • Interest in sustainability, inclusive growth, and/or climate chang, etc.
