Foley & Lardner LLP is seeking an associate with 1-3 years of trust and estate planning experience to join the Estate Planning Practice Group in our Tampa office. (In lieu of the traditional 1-3 years of practice experience, we are open to considering candidates joining directly from an accredited LLM in Taxation program.) Foley's Estate Planning attorneys provide a full range of sophisticated estate planning, trust administration, and wealth management advice to individuals, businesses, and charitable organizations.
Qualified candidates will have experience in drafting estate planning documents, estate and trust administration, estate and gift tax planning, and business succession planning. Specifically, candidates should have experience drafting complex estate planning documents and business succession planning documents for high-net-worth individuals; drafting complex charitable giving documents; counseling clients on income, gift, estate, and generation-skipping transfer tax planning; assisting with probate proceedings for taxable and non-taxable estates; preparing federal gift and estate tax returns; and supporting tax-exempt organization planning. The ideal candidate will bring strong drafting, communication, and interpersonal skills, coupled with a positive attitude and an exceptional work ethic. This is a strong opportunity for an associate to build a long-term Trust & Estate Planning practice in a growing office and collaborative environment, while developing meaningful, client-facing relationships at this stage of their career. Strong academic credentials are required. Applicants must hold a JD from an ABA-accredited law school and be an active member in good standing of the Florida Bar. In support of transparency and equity in the workplace, Foley provides salary ranges for all positions. The expected salary range for this position is between $225,000 - $260,000. Actual pay will be determined based on education, experience, internal pay equity at Foley, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
