Foley & Lardner is seeking a corporate attorney with 4-8 years of relevant experience to join our Transactions Practice Group in Madison as an Associate or Senior Counsel, depending upon experience level. Foley's nationally integrated Transactions Practice Group principally handles M&A and securities matters for publicly and privately held middle market and upper middle market companies, as well as private equity firms. This role focuses primarily on U.S. and cross-border M&A transactions and is ideal for a deal runner who can lead transactions day-to-day with limited supervision-driving timelines, coordinating internal and external teams, managing diligence and workstreams, and serving as a primary point of contact for clients and counterparties. This position offers an energetic, collaborative culture that values character, work ethic, and personal and professional development.

Qualified candidates must have substantial experience representing companies in acquisitions, dispositions, minority investments, private offerings, and other general corporate matters. The ideal candidate has played a lead role in domestic and cross-border M&A transactions, including drafting and negotiating principal deal documents, supervising junior team members, and proactively identifying and resolving issues to keep the deal moving. Experience advising clients across a variety of industry sectors is a plus.

The role requires effective project management and sophisticated document drafting skills, along with outstanding writing and communication abilities, sound judgment, and attention to detail. Experience mentoring junior attorneys and overseeing delegated workstreams with minimal supervision is also required.

Strong academic credentials are required. Applicants must hold a JD from an ABA-accredited law school and be active members in good standing of the Bar in the jurisdiction(s) where admitted to practice. Timely admission to the Wisconsin Bar will be required as a condition of employment.

Interested applicants should submit a resume, law school transcript, and deal sheet. Current judicial clerks need to apply directly and may not be submitted by a legal recruiter.
