Position Summary: Bongards Premium Cheese is looking for a dedicated and dynamic Operations Leader to be a Production Supervisor on the Night shift at our Norwood, MN location.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:



  • Overall responsible for plant operations on assigned shift to ensure that all production, safety, quality and sanitation goals are met.
  • Ensure the highest standards of quality, product safety and employee safety are maintained at all times in the facility.
  • Attend production, safety and quality meetings as required and coordinate with support departments as need to meet overall business goals.
  • Partner with Human Resources on talent management, performance reviews, talent acquisition and employee timekeeping.
  • Maintain the facility in an audit ready state for customers or regulatory agencies.
  • Train and coach production line employees as needed and responsible for shift labor assignments including work area assignments, coordinating time off, employee breaks, and overtime scheduling as directed.
  • Coordinate production startups, shutdowns, changeovers, and trial runs.
  • Responsible for quality of product produced. Make adjustments as necessary during shift to produce product within specifications. Place any product on hold if it is outside of specifications.
  • Coordinate with appropriate departments to update SOP's as they require changes, and re-train employees when necessary.
  • Carry out all disciplinary actions with respect to attendance and other violations. Consult with Human Resources when necessary.
  • Must report all food safety and quality to immediate supervisor or their designated replacement.
  • All other duties as assigned by Production Manager.


Required Qualifications



  • Must have at least 3 years of food manufacturing experience in a supervisory or leadership capacity and must possess general knowledge of manufacturing processes or possess a mix of education and experience equivalent to the required experience.
  • Ability to interact with integrity and a high level of professionalism with all levels of employees and management.
  • Ability to assess issues, make quick decisions, implement solutions, and influence change.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Professional presentation skills.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Experience in Food Processing Industry.
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred.


Working Conditions:



  • Office in a food manufacturing environment, some office setting.
  • Extended periods of sitting, standing, and typing on a computer are required.
  • Light lifting may be required, up to 50 pounds.
  • Willing to travel about 10% of the time.
  • Willing to work occasional evenings or weekends as business needs require.
