Project Manager Plant Operations Opportunity

West Oaks Hospital has provided psychiatric care to the Houston area and surrounding communities for over four decades. Our 176-bed acute care facility is fully accredited and included a 16-bed residential treatment center for adult chemical dependency. We offer a broad range of behavioral health programs for children, adolescents and adults. Treatment is offered at multiple levels of care including inpatient, partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient. We are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week to assist you and answer your questions about treatment options and insurance coverage. West Oaks Hospital is seeking a dynamic and talented Project Manager Plant Operations to join our team of compassionate, dedicated professionals. The Project Manager Plant Operations is responsible for planning, coordinating and executing facilirt projects to support safe, compliant and therapeutic envirnoment for patients, staff and visitors. The Project Manager Plant Operations will oversee construction, maintenance upgrades, safety initiatives and regulatory compliance projects while minimizing disruption to patient care. The Project Manager Plant Operations will collaborate closely with clinical leadership team, staff, vendors and contractors to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget and in accordance with healthcare regulations including Joint Commission and CMS standards.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Directs all activities and staff pertaining to safety, grounds and building maintenance; housekeeping; dietary; security; and transportation and parking services in accordance with pertinent standards, regulations, and policies and procedures.
  • Ensures compliance with pertinent healthcare building codes, accreditation standards, OSHA, and contractual work specifications; and oversee emergency facilities operational initiatives and plans.
  • Oversee construction projects and any work performed by outside vendors and contractors, while assuring that all work performed meets fire and safety codes.
  • Maintain documentation for various regulatory agencies such as JC, TDH, City of Houston and Fire Marshall.
  • Assure that OSHA guidelines and hospital safety policies are being followed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

  • Education: Required: Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management or related field. Education may be substituted with experience on a year to year basis.
  • Licensure and Certification: Required: Valid Texas Drivers License.
  • Experience Required: Seven years of experience in facilities management or related field. Preferred: Experience in JC readiness and surveys in a psychiatric setting.
  • Knowledge of HVAC equipment, electrical, plumbing and mechanical maintenance.
  • Knowledge of local, state and federal regulatory codes regarding Fire and Life Safety codes, building and engineering codes.
  • Experience communicating and managing staff and projects.
