Job Summary:

The Management Consulting (MC) is seeking a Senior Associate to be responsible for providing advanced business performance improvement and growth strategy services to clients. The Senior Associate participates in various stages of consulting engagements and helps with planning, execution, and close out. As a Senior Associate, you hold full responsibility for a project's work stream, collaborating with members from both BDO and the client's team. You frequently oversee a team and engage with a diverse range of industries. You will be part of teams, usually consisting of 3 to 5 consultants, tasked with identifying and frequently implementing viable solutions for particular client issues or challenges. Collectively, you'll assist clients in achieving sustainable enhancements to their performance and accomplishing their key objectives.

Job Duties:



  • Assists with and conducts informational interviews and facilitation of meetings with clients during engagement process
  • Determines necessary information to perform work on an engagement
  • Documents project requirements, with guidance and support of senior professionals
  • Obtains information, documents and data from clients to support engagement deliverables, as needed
  • Documents and analyzes client processes with guidance and direction from senior professionals
  • Develops initial deliverables and/or solutions to client issues
  • Evaluates client current state and assists with future state definition (process, org., technology, information/data)
  • Executes high-quality project management
  • Develops quality documentation with guidance and direction from senior professionals
  • Assists with preparation of meeting agendas, handouts and presentation materials
  • Documents client meetings and produces a meeting summary to present to clients
  • Leverages templates to prepare drafts of various reports, presentations and documentation
  • Leads others towards ethical decision making
  • Able to handle highly confidential client information
  • Assists in driving a project through the various stages of the project lifecycle
  • Supports high quality process documentation and process design
  • Participates and supports client interview and documentation process
  • Supervises and counsels' junior associates and/or interns
  • Develops relationships with client personnel and management members
  • Assists with research for and drafting of proposals, marketing materials, statement of qualifications and other practice documentation
  • Participates in local professional organizations
  • Identifies and understands business development opportunities through industry and networking relationships, and works with leaders to pursue such opportunities
  • Partners with peers in other business lines to identify and promote the services of the Management Consulting practices to existing and prospective clients, in addition to identifying cross-selling opportunities to other BDO business linesOn operational due diligence projects: synergy or deal value driver analysis, and operational risk identification
  • On integration projects: integration strategy definition, and integration planning and execution
  • On carve-out projects: stand-alone cost analysis, carve-out strategy definition, carve-out planning and execution, and Transition Services Agreement (TSA) definition
  • On PE-related projects: 100-day and value creation planning and execution
  • Other duties, as required


Supervisory Responsibilities:



  • Coordinates tasks and project assignments with other Seniors, as necessary
  • Reviews work products prepared by other Associates, and provides review comments and edits, as necessary
  • Provides leaders within the practice verbal and written performance feedback on other Seniors, as necessary
  • Provides coaching to other Associates by providing real-time and on-the-job insight and training, as necessary
  • Supports a collaborative and team-oriented environment, while encouraging strong results and quality work


Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:



  • Bachelor's degree, required; degree with a focus in Management, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Information Technology or Engineering, preferred


Experience:



  • Three (3) or more years of experience in at least one of the following disciplines, or functional work experience showing progress/promotion required:

    • Management/ Business Strategy Consulting
    • Project Management
    • Business Analysis

  • Multiple, successful experiences in at least two (2) of the following services: M&A Integration, Supply Chain Optimization, Finance Transformation, Shared Services, AR/AP/Close/Reporting Improvement, Strategy or Technology Optimization, required
  • Consulting experience, preferred
  • Leadership experience, preferred


Software:



  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, required
  • Smartsheet experience, preferred
  • Professional/Technical Certification (PMP), preferred

  • Proficient in articulating thoughts clearly and coherently, both orally and in written form, in English as well as the language(s) specific to the local office
  • Strong analytical, documentation and research skills
  • Solid organizational skills, with the ability to meet project deadlines with a focus on details
  • Ability to successfully multi-task while working independently or within a group environment
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, deadline-driven environment, and handle multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to travel 50% on average, as needed
  • Exhibits executive presence, intellectual curiosity and analytical thinking
  • Capable of initiating and maintaining solid relationships with all levels of client personnel, as well as utilizing network and industry relationships to identify business development opportunities
  • Ability to analyze large volumes of data to identify potential issues and propose the most appropriate resolutions to deal structures
  • Ability to maintain the highly confidential nature of information

Individual salaries that are offered to a candidate are determined after consideration of numerous factors including but not limited to the candidate's qualifications, experience, skills, and geography.

National Range: $80,000 - $100,000 Maryland Range: $80,000 - $100,000
NYC/Long Island/Westchester Range: $80,000 - $100,000
