The Senior Fleet Dispatcher is responsible for the effective day-to-day coordination and management of a fleet of drivers and vehicles to ensure safe, efficient, and on-time transportation operations. You will oversee route planning, load assignments, and schedule preparation while dispatching drivers in alignment with delivery requirements, equipment availability, and Hours of Service regulations. The Senior Fleet Dispatcher serves as a key communication link between drivers, operations, and facilities, proactively resolving issues, optimizing fleet utilization, and supporting consistent service levels across the network.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Dispatch & Scheduling: Manage full dispatch operations, including planning routes, scheduling drivers, and adjusting weekly delivery plans to meet service requirements.

  • Fleet & Driver Coordination: Supervise company-owned fleet drivers, secure freight, and resolve transportation issues to ensure safe, efficient, and on-time deliveries.

  • Customer & Carrier Collaboration: Coordinate pickup and delivery appointments with internal teams, customers, and external partners to ensure alignment on availability, quantities, and delivery requirements.

  • Operational Problem Solving: Identify and evaluate delivery needs based on cost, volume, and service expectations, proactively resolving transportation disruptions as they arise.

  • Transportation Support: Perform additional duties as needed to support overall transportation operations and departmental objectives.

WHAT WE'RE SEEKING:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university and 2+ years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Industry Knowledge: Understanding of the transportation industry, rate structures, and current trends.

  • Execution & Organization: Strong planning, organizational, and execution skills with the ability to work independently in a complex environment.

  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Collaboration & Professionalism: Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment while building strong working relationships through a respectful and approachable style.

OTHER SKILLS THAT MAKE YOU STAND OUT:

  • Associate's Degree, preferred.

  • SAP and TMS experience are a plus.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • May directly supervise fleet drivers.

  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.

  • Responsibilities include, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
