What you will be doing

    Prepare detailed estimates for heavy civil roadway projects, including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs. Ensure estimates are accurate, timely, and aligned with project specifications.
  • Analyze project plans, drawings, specifications, and other relevant documents to determine the scope of work and develop an understanding of project requirements.
  • Collaborate with project managers and engineers to prepare comprehensive bids and proposals for various roadway construction projects, ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations and codes.
  • Perform quantity takeoffs from project plans, including roadways, bridges, grading, utilities, and other infrastructure components.
  • Solicit quotes from subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors, and assess their pricing and capabilities. Maintain positive relationships with suppliers to ensure timely and cost-effective procurement of materials.
  • Assist in the development of project budgets and provide ongoing cost analysis and forecasting throughout the project lifecycle. Monitor actual costs against estimates and recommend corrective actions as needed.
  • Identify potential risks and challenges within the project scope and budget and provide recommendations for mitigating these risks.
  • Maintain clear, organized records of all cost estimates, proposals, bid documents, and project changes. Provide regular status reports to project managers and senior management.
  • Work closely with internal teams (engineering, design, project management) and external stakeholders (clients, subcontractors, vendors) to ensure all project requirements are understood and met.


What we are looking for

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management or related field required.
  • 1+ years of experience in construction industry, estimating or cost control preferred.
  • Beginner knowledge of HCSS Heavy Bid Estimating Software
  • Developing technical writing skills.
