TheFoundry Agent Platformteam builds several foundational areas for Microsoft Foundry to deliver AI capabilities to Azure customers:

  • Agent distribution and integration features to help customers bring AI to where users already are
  • A unified data layer with strong enterprise guarantees that handles a wide variety of user-facing objects
  • Discovery and search features including the public Azure AI Catalog
  • Billing and metrics
  • Authoring frontier agents to improve our own efficiency

Responsibilities
  • You will design, build, and operate production software that supports critical business and customer scenarios.
  • You will apply AIassistedanddatadriventechniques to improve system quality, reliability, and efficiency while continuing to grow your skills in distributed systems, cloud services, and modern software engineering practices.
  • You will have flexible work options, including opportunities to work in a hybrid model that balances inofficecollaboration with remote work.


Qualifications

Required/minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience.

Other Requirements:

  • Abilityto meet Microsoft,customerand/or government security screening requirements arerequiredfor this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will berequiredto pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Additionalor preferred qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 3+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 5+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience.

  • Experience designing, developing, andmaintainingproduction software with high correctness and availability requirements.

  • Experience operating cloudbased services on platforms such as Microsoft Azure, including service reliability, monitoring, and livesite support.

  • Experience applying AI to accelerate software development tasks.

Software Engineering IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $100,600 - $199,000 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $131,400 - $215,400 per year.

Software Engineering IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $119,800 - $234,700 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $158,400 - $258,000 per year.
