Description

    Using AutoCAD and SolidWorks to create, modify, and maintain 2D technical drawings and graphic presentations of complex electrical/electronicsrelated items, including components, assemblies, equipment racks, panels, and cable routing
  • Interpreting engineering input (sketches, redlines, markups, models, specifications, and verbal guidance) and converting it into accurate, complete, and properly formatted drawings and diagrams
  • Ensuring all drawings comply with applicable DoD and industry drawing standards, including MILDTL31000 and relevant ASME drawing standards (e.g., ASME Y14 series), with correct use of layers, line weights, symbols, dimensions, tolerances, notes, title blocks, and revision blocks
  • Preparing and updating graphic presentations and drawing packages to support design reviews, installations, test activities, logistics documentation, and technical manuals
  • Supporting CM and revision control processes by updating drawing revisions, maintaining drawing logs, documenting changes, and coordinating with configuration/data management personnel to keep technical data current and traceable
  • Collaborating with engineers, technicians, and CM staff to clarify requirements, resolve discrepancies, and ensuring that drawings accurately represent the intended design and installation
  • Organizing, labeling, and archiving drawings and associated documentation in accordance with contract, security, and quality management protocols, ensuring traceability and availability for government review and audits
  • Developing digital illustrations, schematics, and other graphics that support procedures, training materials, briefings, and other technical documentation associated with supported electronic systems

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED
  • At least three years of experience drafting/illustrating in the electronics field, including:
    • Use of computerized drafting applications,
    • Digital imaging techniques,
    • Proficient use of AutoCAD, and
    • Planning and preparing graphic presentations of complex items,
    • With experience supporting DoD processes and procedures
  • Relevant Technical Experience:
    • At least three years of relevant technical field experience using SolidWorks and/or AutoCAD in support of electronicsrelated drafting and modeling
    • Experience modeling and drafting various components and systems from conceptual ("blank sheet") inputs, turning highlevel design intent into complete, productionready drawings
    • Knowledge of DoD and industry drawing standards and procedures, including MILDTL31000 and applicable ASME drawing standards (e.g., ASME Y14 series)
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for drawing lists, revision logs, and supporting documentation
    • Ability to produce and update 2D technical drawings and graphic presentations for electrical/electronic components, assemblies, wiring/cable layouts, and systemlevel layouts
    • Experience supporting configuration management and revision control (drawing revisions, logs, coordination with CM/data managers)
    • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to clearly document and present drawing changes for internal and government review


Desired Skills

  • Education:
    • Associate's degree from a school in drafting or illustration and at least two years of related experience in the electronics field, or
    • High School diploma or GED with at least five years of related experience in the electronics field,
    • Including AutoCAD, digital imaging, graphic presentations of complex items, and DoD processes and procedures
  • USMC drawing format experience, including familiarity with USMCspecific drawing templates, title blocks, and note conventions
  • Experience preparing and updating complete TDPs in a DoD environment
  • Experience with additional CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks 3D modeling, CREO, CATIA) to support drawing and model generation
  • Familiarity with configuration management systems (e.g., CMPro or similar) for storing, controlling, and tracking drawing revisions and associated technical data
  • FEA experience (e.g., using SolidWorks Simulation or similar tools) is a plus but not required


Clearance Information

SRC IS A CONTRACTOR FOR THE U.S. GOVERNMENT, THIS POSITION WILL REQUIRE U.S. CITIZENSHIP AS WELL AS, A U.S. GOVERNMENT SECURITY CLEARANCE AT THE SECRET LEVEL
