About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Lead Process Engineer to drive the transformation of our HR operations in preparation for AI integration. This critical role will systematically analyze, redesign, and optimize HR processes across the employee lifecycle, establishing the operational foundation necessary for successful AI implementation. You will work at the intersection of human resources, process excellence, and emerging technology to position our organization for the future of work.

Key Responsibilities

Process Analysis & Optimization

Conduct comprehensive audits of existing HR processes across talent acquisition, onboarding, performance management, employee relations, compensation, benefits administration, and offboarding. Map current-state workflows, identify inefficiencies, redundancies, and manual touchpoints that create friction or inconsistency. Document process variations across business units and geographies to establish baseline understanding.

Redesign HR processes using Lean Six Sigma and design thinking methodologies to eliminate waste, reduce cycle times, and improve quality. Standardize processes where appropriate while maintaining necessary flexibility for local requirements. Create streamlined workflows that are clear, repeatable, and measurable.

AI Readiness & Data Governance

Assess process readiness for AI automation by evaluating data quality, consistency, completeness, and accessibility. Identify processes suitable for automation, augmentation, or AI-assisted decision support. Define data requirements and governance standards necessary to support AI models and ensure ethical, compliant deployment.

Partner with IT and data science teams to establish data pipelines, integration points, and quality controls. Develop frameworks for continuous process monitoring and AI model performance evaluation.

Stakeholder Engagement & Change Management

Collaborate with HR business partners, centers of excellence, shared services teams, and business leaders to understand pain points, gather requirements, and design solutions that balance efficiency with employee experience. Facilitate workshops and design sessions to drive alignment and co-create process improvements.

Develop change management strategies, communication plans, and training programs to support process adoption. Build organizational capability in process thinking and continuous improvement methodologies.

Governance & Measurement

Establish process governance frameworks including ownership models, standard operating procedures, and performance metrics. Define KPIs and success measures for both process efficiency and AI readiness. Create dashboards and reporting mechanisms to track progress and demonstrate business value.

Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and company policy requirements throughout process redesign. Partner with legal, compliance, and internal audit to address risk considerations.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Business Process Management, Human Resources, or related field
  • 8+ years of progressive experience in process engineering, business process improvement, or operations management
  • 3+ years of experience in HR operations, HR transformation, or HR technology implementation
  • Demonstrated expertise in process mapping, analysis, and redesign methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, DMAIC)
  • Deep understanding of HR processes across the full employee lifecycle
  • Experience preparing organizational processes for technology implementation, preferably including automation or AI
  • Strong analytical skills with ability to translate complex processes into clear documentation and requirements
  • Proven project management capabilities with track record of delivering complex, cross-functional initiatives
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills at all organizational levels

Preferred:

  • Master's degree in relevant field or MBA
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification
  • Hands-on experience with AI, machine learning, or intelligent automation implementations
  • Knowledge of HR technology platforms (Workday, SuccessFactors, Oracle HCM)
  • Change management certification (Prosci or similar)
  • Experience in Fortune 500 or large, complex matrix organizations
  • Understanding of data governance, privacy regulations (GDPR, CCPA), and ethical AI principles

Estimated compensation for this position:

185,000.00 - 205,000.00 USD per year

This range is an estimate and actual compensation may differ. Final compensation packages are determined by various considerations including but not limited to candidate qualifications, location, market conditions, and internal considerations.
