Job Description




As a Security Officer Patrol Operations in Durham, NC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, and more. Join Allied Universal as an unarmed officer in a healthcare location, where you will patrol assigned areas, remain visible to help deter security-related incidents, and support patients, visitors, and staff with exceptional customer service and communication. In this people-first role, you will bring integrity, teamwork, and a reliable presence while using agile and innovative approaches to daily activities.

What You'll Do:

    Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and/or vendors by carrying out security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a healthcare setting.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting details and communicating with site contacts and/or first responders as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout buildings, parking areas, entrances, and perimeter locations to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify unusual conditions.
  • Monitor access points and visitor activity, helping to confirm that only authorized individuals enter restricted areas in accordance with healthcare location protocols.
  • Support day-to-day operations by reporting hazards, policy concerns, and/or maintenance issues, and assisting with directions and general assistance requests across the location.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
