This position focuses on building shared engineering capabilities that help internal teams create and manage APIs efficiently and reliably. The work centers on internal platforms, automation, and tooling that improve consistency, quality, and developer workflows across the organization. Responsibilities * Develop and maintain shared engineering services and internal tools that support API development at scale. * Create systems that automate API standards, quality checks, and documentation. * Build solutions that generate and manage client integrations and supporting developer resources. * Promote and support specificationdriven API development using OpenAPI. * Break complex initiatives into clear, manageable units of work and deliver them endtoend. * Work closely with multiple engineering groups, architecture partners, and platform teams to deliver crossorg solutions. * Identify gaps in current processes and lead improvements that raise engineering quality and efficiency. * Communicate design decisions and technical concepts clearly to a wide range of audiences. Required Background * Extensive experience designing and building software systems in a production environment. * Strong experience working with APIs, including standards, lifecycle management, and governance. * Handson experience with OpenAPI and RESTbased integrations. * Strong working knowledge of Java and/or Node.js with TypeScript. * Experience building internal tools, developer platforms, or enablement solutions. * History of delivering reusable engineering assets such as SDKs, validation tools, or shared frameworks. * Ability to work independently within large, complex environments. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Milwaukee, WI. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $50.00 - $60.00/hr.
