Our Business Development & Marketing team plays a critical role in enhancing the Firm's reputation, expanding its client base and driving revenue growth. This team develops and implements strategic marketing plans to promote the Firm's legal services, leveraging digital and traditional marketing channels to reach target audiences. They conduct market research to identify industry trends and client needs, positioning the Firm competitively within the legal marketplace. The team also manages client relationships, orchestrates business development initiatives, and seeks opportunities for partnerships and networking. Through compelling content creation, event planning and public relations efforts, they ensure that the Firm maintains a strong market presence and continues to attract and retain clients. Position Summary

The Specialist, Marketing & Business Development Operations, plays a key role within the M&BD Operations team, which enables the wider Marketing & Business Development function to operate efficiently, consistently, and at scale to deliver against its goals and strategic priorities.

This role requires demonstrated expertise in managing marketing technology platforms, processes, and workflows. The Specialist provides high-quality operational support and subject matter expertise, optimizing and unifying marketing technology tools to deliver scalable solutions that elevate M&BD effectiveness.

Working collaboratively across all levels of M&BD Operations and with cross-functional stakeholders, the Specialist drives operational excellence through specialized knowledge, problem-solving capabilities, and continuous process improvement.

Duties and Accountabilities

Marketing Technology Advisory

  • Serve as a trusted advisor providing expert guidance on marketing technology processes, platforms, and products, with particular focus on email and marketing automation tools such as Cvent and Market
  • Act as a connector within M&BD Operations and cross-functional stakeholders, solving challenges with a solution-oriented approach while fostering collaboration and embedding best practice
  • Facilitate new joiner inductions, raising the profile and value proposition of the M&BD Operations team

Email Campaign Operations & Execution

  • Support the execution and optimization of complex email campaigns using platforms like Cvent and Marketo, ensuring best practices in deliverability, segmentation, personalization, and compliance
  • Build and manage email workflows, templates, and automation sequences to support marketing initiatives and business development activities
  • Conduct quality assurance testing on email campaigns including functionality, rendering, and link validation across devices and email clients
  • Monitor campaign performance metrics and provide insights to optimize future email communications

Platform & Process Management

  • Contribute to the day-to-day operations and ongoing improvement of marketing technology processes, platforms, and workflows, including data, to support marketing and business development initiatives
  • Assist with the management of marketing technology solutions and processes-helping to translate objectives into user stories and technical requirements, supporting priority setting, and contributing to ongoing development and upgrade
  • Proactively identify and implement opportunities to connect people, platforms, processes, and products, maximizing the potential of the marketing technology portfolio and improving operational efficiency, effectiveness, and user adoption.

Data Management & Quality

  • Assist in centralizing and organizing marketing data sets to ensure smooth workflow, information sharing, and data integrity across all marketing & business development operations
  • Maintain and update client lists, contact databases, and records of client interactions to ensure accurate information is available for planning, tracking, outreach, and reporting.

Change Management & Adoption

  • Support the implementation of new operating models through change management, up-skilling initiatives, and coaching and mentoring team members on new processes and technologies
  • Provide logistical support for collaborative projects and team initiatives.
Essential Job Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant experience
  • Experience in marketing operations, marketing technology, or related operational roles
  • Law firm/professional services experience preferred but not mandatory
  • Advanced experience in managing and optimizing marketing technology platforms and processes (e.g., campaign management, list segmentation, data management, and/or automation) is required
  • Advanced experience in marketing virtual and hybrid events, multi-channel marketing, and email communication is necessary
  • Demonstrated expertise with marketing technology platforms such as Cvent, Marketo, or similar marketing automation and event management solutions
  • Advanced understanding of client relationship management (CRM) principles and processes is necessary
  • Advanced understanding of data privacy regulations such as GDPR and CCPA is necessary
  • Knowledge of coding languages such as HTML, JavaScript, HTML/CSS, or SQL is advantageous
  • Data storytelling and visualization skills are advantageous
  • A solid understanding of UX/UI principles is advantageous
  • Clear and professional communication skills supporting effective collaboration with team members and stakeholders
  • Commitment to firm policies, standards, and confidentiality requirements.

Los Angeles Pay Range: $90,400 - $146,900. Salary range in other markets will vary.
