Job description
Position Overview:
We are seeking a Director of Financial Planning and Analysis (FP and A) to lead the company's budgeting, forecasting, and financial performance management processes. This role will serve as a strategic partner to executive leadership and department heads, driving visibility into financial performance, improving decision-making, and elevating the overall finance function to best-in-class standards. Key Responsibilities: * Execute annual budgeting process end-to-end, including timeline management, stakeholder alignment, and executive presentation. * Own monthly and quarterly forecasting processes, ensuring accuracy, transparency, and actionable insights. * Develop and maintain departmental P and Ls, partnering with business leaders to manage spend, headcount, and performance against targets. * Partner with department heads to improve financial literacy and accountability, including: - Open headcount planning and tracking. - Expense management and variance analysis. - ROI-driven decision-making. * Build and manage vendor spend models, ensuring alignment with budget targets and identifying optimization opportunities. * Establish and enforce strong financial governance across planning, forecasting, and reporting processes. * Partner closely with Accounting to: - Improve the monthly close process (speed, accuracy, and coordination). - Align actuals with forecast structures for clean variance analysis. - Ensure consistency between financial reporting and management reporting. * Develop scalable FP and A processes, tools, and reporting packages to support company growth. * Lead KPI development and performance tracking across departments. * Prepare executive and board-level financial materials, including variance analysis and strategic insights. * Build, mentor, and lead a FP and A analyst Qualifications: * 8 to 12+ years of progressive experience in FP and A, corporate finance, or related roles; leadership experience required. - Is a director or a manager * Strong experience owning budgeting and forecasting in a multi-department environment. * Deep understanding of financial statements, especially P and L management and variance analysis. * Proven ability to partner cross-functionally with non-finance stakeholders. * Experience improving financial processes and implementing best practices. * Strong systems experience (e.g., ERP systems, Power BI; advanced Excel required). * Excellent communication skills with experience presenting to executive leadership Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (MBA or CFA preferred).
